Fair enough.... I hopped into this when you implied how ridiculous it was that they would make a HD shortbed. There are plenty of people (myself included) that wanted exactly that.

I tried to find your 5th wheel.. I have not brought mine to the scales yet.. Just wondering if you're considering weight issues..

Mine is only about 8000 dry. I'm not even close to considering going fulltime....I still work! . I have not weighed it, but likely will because I now have a RZR and will be pulling doubles occasionally. I figure loaded trailer and RZR there'd be about 11-12K total in trailer(s).

Ours is 12200 dry.. Gvwr if 16000. The truck is rated to tow 16660. But if I'm over on the pin weight, then the 16660 is meaningless..

Yep. It seems you and Snoking don't realize smaller (lighter trailers) do exist! (that's a reference from like 10 pages ago in this thread) :-laf

My 2500 shortbed is more than adequate for my needs.

I just discovered the outside mirrors manually adjust this afternoon. It was a total face palm moment. With them adjusted now, I can see the 8' box just fine. I like em'.

Hey enjoy to new ride! Did you get the 8.4 or 8.4 with Nav? Snoking

I ordered the "Towing Mirrors" Do or will they work with the switch to put them in the towing position ? Or do I need to manually put them in Towing Position ? Will they fold in when they are in the "Towing Position"?

The Folding feature brings the complete mirror assembly in against the truck body. The mirror body normally stores horizontal to the mirror arm. You have to manually pivot them upwards for towing.

That's what I thought thanks. The Power Mirrors/Heated Mirrors on my RV are always up right, You even have to fold them in when you want them folded in.

Because you need a special hitch. Weight ratings are reduced on mega cabs.I like the short bed don't get me wrong. But like I said, I wanted really a long bed dually,,,, however, there was not a single one. Nowhere! My mega cab has a higher gvwr than my 04 dually quad cab. But the mega cab weighs nearly 1000 lbs more than the old dually. We have a large 5th wheel. I just did not want to be concerned with weight again...

MC's do carry the highest of the GVWR's, but they do have a reduced capability only because the additional weight difference. And if you really want a MegaCab Long bed, you can "get" one. :)

Nice Truck!!! Didn't realize those were possible. Our crew cab is plenty long as it is and has more than enough room inside for my wife and I.

Mingogla, I never get tired of looking at your truck! Personally would never own a MegaCab but it is just great. That color IMHO looks best with the gold trim.

Leave the antlers up! IMHO spots are useless and potentially dangerous in the down position!

It's been discussed many times, we already talked about this with crayons crayons,, as I said before!!! If u don't have something to contribute other than being a smarts as ,,, then don't reply! If it has been referenced before, PROVIDE YHE LINK!!!!!

Like???it reminds me of politicians saying"as I have said before"" really??? It's The first time I heard it,. Not everyone is an expert such as yourself..

You've already forgotten what we were talking about? The whole reason I got into this conversation was this:

WHY WOULD RAM MAKE A HEAVY DUTY TRUCK IN SHORTBED? I don't get it... ...

We don't really need to rehash this again do we?
