You can hit it at start and toggle up to the max gear you may want to be in. I use the heck out of mine while towing to hold a gear descending a grade or dropping a gear before I loose any speed on a grade when I know it will be down shifting anyway. Another one on a short offramp is to toggle right down to 2 and it will decelerate as quickly as possible with the TH and EB on.

Keep in mind (if you don't know this already), if you activate it when you first start out, it will limit itself to the gear you are currently in.....then obviously you can shift it up manually from that point.
If I have a reason to watch my gears......I usually just hit it after reaching 6th.

You have to watch how you place your palm on the lever coming out of Park.. If you have your palm facing the dash it will sometimes lock it in 1st!!

On my 2014 SRW Longhorn Limited with Aisin and 3.42's, I tow in 5th to keep the RPM's up to 1750 (about 66 MPH). I start out in Drive and, as I reach highway speeds, shift into 5th. Most times the dash display indicates the transmission is in 5th or 6th when I make the switch but on occasion it will indicate the transmission is still in 4th. In that case, I just shift up to 5th. Pretty cool to be able to see which gear the transmission is in while manually shifting! Traveling empty I just let the transmission do it's thing although I always use the EB and frequently use TH when slowing down. The dealer told me during our short orientation that the EB in the full on position helps the truck keep the catalytic system clean by being partially on all of the time - have no idea if that is true or not.

You need a new dealer!!!! Snoking

OK, I made version two of my keyless FOB belt pouch. The first one on the left was horizontal and the new one on the right is vertical. I also tether the fob to the belt. Wear and tear on the FOB should be low compared to a pocket. SNOKING

Back to the mirrors. I just found the "tip on reverse" feature that tips the side mirrors down towards the rear bumper when you put in reverse. Put it back in drive and the mirrors go back to normal setting.

Pretty cool feature!

I've tried this feature, but I wish you could control how far down it goes. For me it goes too far down.

Snoking;

Nice looking truck. Do you by chance happen to know what the ground clearence of your truck is? I am looking to order my 2016 in the next week or so. I was thinking of going 4x4 but that seems to be more of a want than an actual need.

I didn't know about that feature with the power mirrors, thanks for the info.
You do not know the ground clearance of your truck is ? I am trying to decide wether to get a 4x4 or a 4x2 Crew Cab Long bed. Also why did you go with dual Alternators? I run a couple of Amateur radios in my current Pick Up. have the largest Alternator that was available in 1995 for a F-250. It's time for it to go away soon.

Well I can tell it makes my 2001 seem short. I am 6'3" and have a hard time reaching the bed floor over the sides. The climb into the cab is just that, a climb. I am not sure the 2x4 are much shorter, as I think they now have a straight axle under the front. The hood out front seems massive

I have the single 220 amp alt. Standard is 180. I think the duals are for service trucks, plowing etc. Snoking

So is your new truck 4x4 or 4x2? I'm not as tall as you but I'm looking to make it easier for my wife to get in and out. I do know for sure the running boards are a must have.
Thanks.

I'm just about to change out the tubular running boards for the Ames Research fold out ones. They drop lower and give a bigger platform step for in or out of the truck.

You need to go into settings on your monitor. You just need to check the box in mirrors for tip on reverse. I can't remember off hand the exact location but will look today and let you know.

Thanks! I will look also. I always drop my mirrors when backing up onto a curb with one tire so no one door dings me with my big hips.

Under settings, I think it's under the safety features line. I use it when backing into spaces with lines or when backing into paved camping spaces. Not so great in my long driveway however.
