The New Street Twins are out and driving now! Those of you that know me know that I have been working and planning on this for a while, well now it's running and the testing begins.

First let me thanks those that help me because without them I would still be driving a stock truck.

Piers for the Pump, Head, Injectors, Turbo's and allot of knowledge.

Jason Burton(NW Customs) for the piping, parts, design and I TRIED TO BY-PASS THE CUSSING FILTER chat.

Ken Dias(sp) that owns Turbo Auto Diesel for the Big Brother turbo.

The Late Nowell Thomas for trying to make this happen for me only one week prior to his death( God bless you )

Matt Snow(snowperformance.com) for the water injection.

Chuck Sightsinger that owns Alternative Motor Sports in OKC for the dyno time.

James Northum and DTT for putting the power to the ground!

I finished up tonight putting it all together, so a leak check then out for a drive! Throttle response is unbelievable going from a stock 35 to PDR 40, the setup is not laggy at all. The 40 starts playing the game quickly then the B/B is on it's back! Boost is quick, really quick, as fast or faster than my last combo. In Valet mode I hit 65 PSI, I really like this setup, it seems no different than my last on the highway but way more air and allot less air temp. Ken and I talked the other day about the differences between the HT3B and the B/B and there in different worlds, I have some data numbers already but I will re-verify it prior to posting as there way too low air temps. I did jump on it a bit thought, yes I know they are new turbo's but there mine, I'll tell you that I need to tune(re-adjust) as 80 psi was like an instant from 15. I'll drop the wastegate setting and install a third pop off valve to control the boost. You'll have a part of this too, remember you pay my wages... . USN!

What maximum boost psi are you shooting for? Who polished the housings? Looks good!! What rpm does it spool at?

Sweet!!!!

Beautiful Jim,

Superb function and beauty together, I love it!!

Very nice piece of work.

I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say thanks as always for sharing your knowledge and experiences. Your style of testing BEFORE posting commands respect.

Quick question Jim, are you just o-ringed on the head? Just curious as to how far up the boost ladder you're going to go with your current head gasket setup.

Best of luck to ya,

Cousin Billy

Nice setup

Jim,looks as if you had all the right people involved,I can tell you Kenny is one of the AZ boys and we spend a good deal of time at firebird testing different set up's. He's a good buddy to have and killer turbo guy. Hope to see ya at May Maddness, maybe give some competition for Richard to have some fun.

Alan in AZ :D

Craig, I polished the housings in the shop, the 40 was a rough casting as well as the elbow and took allot of time, the B/B is a smooth housing and polishes quick. I'll get back with you on the rpm as Jason wants to know at what boost it lights off at, remember all your doing it lighting the 40 off so at 1600 it's going good and the B/B seems like it's on it's back the whole time. I might change my light throttle shift point and try to raise them to 1800 vise the 1600 there at but I need to get some miles on it first, it just doesn't seem to be any different than the 35/3B.

Hey Billy, I still have the single O-ring in the head with the studs, a max of 75 seems to be in order but knowing me I'll probably lift the head before it's all over. I need to change the gate as I didn't even turn the water on and that's another 5 psi, dang gate opens at 22 psi guess I'll go to the bottom of it! I'll hook the boost guage up on the B/B today so I know what it's doing and report back.

Jim

Jim,

That is a very sweet looking setup. I read where you did the polish job on the turbos, awesome!!

I can't wait to hear your reports on the new set. It sounds like great spool, and that is what I like... I hate lag.

Great job!!

I went over to the dyno today just to see what was happening, there was a Supra there that clicked off 813HP with a single turbo! I told them that I would dyno then but they were full up! When I left I stood on it going from 2nd to locked to 3rd to 4th locked at 80 psi, 2nd wasn't bad but 3rd was all over the road and still spun going to 4th, if the power isn't up I'm going to be disappointed as it feels real good, haven't turned the water on yet... too much boost, so I adjusted the wastegate to the max to try and get that down then use my regulator to bring it up if needed. Valet is a riot, don't know were the power is but EGT's are way down! Big Brother screams real nice too.

Jim

Looks and sounds really cool Jim, definitely will look you up when I come through the area again, (hopefully soon) !! Mark

Nice setup Jim. I haven't been reading to much lately because then I get the bug to build something and I need to spend the money on the house instead of the truck. I have been thinking about Supras though or a turboed Lexus IS300. Thanks for the help last year, I've been running my twins with no problems since last Christmas.

Sweet set up Jim. Nice polish job. You should get mine in the mail. I would like to Know your air temps and boost between the chargers. God that is a big S. O. B... ... ... ... Brad

Congrates on geting her back to gether Jim, sounds like your having fun, damn man you better watch that head gasket your scaring me and I stay at 70.

I backed it off to 75 tonight, that's the lowest I can go so it's all up to the pop off's now... ... your really need to hear the little Jet light off.

Jim

Cool set-up Jim - I got to get me some of those! I've sold some kits up here to high HP supra's, I'll bet that supra's peak HP was at 6500-7000RPM with nothing untill 5500RPM - it would have cool to show your 800HP at 2500RPM.

Thanks,

Matt
