I just picked up a Carli stabilizer today for my 08 style steering. I will be giving it a work out south of the border in a coule of days Oo.

Bob, I'm sure you're going to like your Carli SS, but when did you upgrade your tie rod ends, etc. ?? And how do you like them? Do you think they are an upgrade or just neutral in terms of longevity and response??

I had excessive play in the tie rod ends,They are no longer serviced. The ends now supercede to the new style pkg. We don't have a lot of choice right now.

The steering does feel better, much less tendencie to wobble. Only time/miles will tell the whole story.

We actually have a stabilizer that bolts right to the factory mount that comes with the 08+ style steering. No need to waste money buying a new clamp.
But what if you buy the updated steering kit to retro-fit an 03-07?

Doesn't the 08+ steering use a "bolt on" clamp on the rod?

Carli's stabilizer fits right on the included clamp on the new style steering with out needing any other hardware

I didn't know the oem rod kit came with the clamp, I don't doubt the Carli/Bilstein Shock works great, its overkill for my use plus I discussed that set up at this years SEMA/Bilstein both where they warned against it.

If you hit the stabilizer hard enough to dent it I hope you are going slow :-laf

I have had trucks towed in when they hit the stock stabilizer,it will bind up the steering too so no saving grace there.

Me too. . can't imagine what it would be like towing my 5th wheel on the freeway when some object off another vehicle put a dent in it. Bilstein says all the liability has been shifted to Carli on those 7100's used that way.

I hear ya but those are really smashed, a good size rock off a dump truck can dent a 7100

:-laf I have seen many of those shocks as well as fox and radflows take a lot of abuse in Baja and local deserts.

I bought the kit part #52122362AB and then learned it has been superseded to AE. A quick call to my Dealer confirmed it and that AE's are on back order and no data as to what is different, so if anyone knows please chime in.

The EA is more money, wondering if its because it comes with a pitman arm maybe??
