My Dad ran a set of the Cooper Discover ST Maxx on my old '99. I can't really speak to the mileage, but I don't think they lasted any longer than the regular Cooper Discover ST's.

Just switched from Firestone TransForce AT 265/70R17 to Nitta Dura Grappler 285/70R17 yesterday. First impressions are excellent, much quieter and smoother. BTW, I never 4x4 off road. I have it for additional grip while towing my fiver.

Put Toyo Open Country AT2, 285/75/18 on my '16. Had the same tire on 17" rim on my '12. Like the tire a lot, put 25k on the set on my '12 before I traded it, tires still looked/ran well w/ plenty of tread left. I rotate, balance and align (align if needed) religiously at 5K interval. I did a 2 inch level and Bilstein 5100 but level was not required. Also got a 285/75/18 in spare well...it is full and have to have two folks to get it around sway bar, but it fits and rides in well fine (but you can't have a long tongue hitch b/c it is right up on receiver opening.)

That size looks great on your truck!

I currently run 4th gen 17's but would love to run 18's. Unfortunately spacers are required to make them work on my truck which is a deal breaker for me.

Toyo Open Country AT2...10 ply, E load ratied, 50K mileage warranty, put 25K on them on my '12, wore and rode great, loved them. Will be putting a set on my '16 soon, 285/75/18.

I've got these in 35's. I think I'm somewhere around 30K miles on them now. Not one problem and I will buy them again.

I'm a Michelin man..... well, not literally. Only tire I'll ever run. Just put a set of the new Defenders on my truck last month. Love'em.
