Gotcha, an air filter.

At the very least I would figure out a way to seal it, the air right there is very hot when towing which leads to lower turbo and radiator efficiency.

The OEM box and filter are really about impossible to beat under 500 rwhp.

A quick search shows that filter isn't rated for enough flow. The max flow is only about 2/3 of what the HE341 flows.

Hmmmm. Not going to disagree, as many people here consider you an authority here.

On both of my trucks I never liked how it takes dirty air from the wheel well into the filter. Thats why I went with that round filter.

Is there a filter I should be using? Other then OEM? I have been looking around with the search, but I am not having success.

I see that I should be buying the Baldwin pf7977 for fuel filter.

Fleetguard AH19037 with an Outerwears pre-filter, about the best flowing filter available. Also the biggest, it takes some ingenuity to position it.

He is one choice

Posting here to show the comparison. Got the big air filter. Your right that thing does not want to fit in there well. I cut down a 90 degree piece of exhaust to fit it to the rest of the plumbing, but it ended up too high to fit under the hood. My welder is not currently working after my move so cut cut cut bend bend bend and bang bang bang with a hammer to get it to this point.

When I figure out what is wrong with my miller I will get it in there straight and looking better. I bought some automotive insulation to sheild from engine heat and to isolate the ac lines from heat as well.

One of the down falls of buying a new truck is getting the thing the way you want it.

Oh and btw here is a pic of the truck I got for 6K. I guess the finds like this make up for all the screwing you receive at the dealers your whole life.

Needs a bath, but hoping to get 200K out of her before the rust belt has a say about it.
