Hi Dave here. The misses and I picked up a '98 Ram 2500 4x4 Quad Cab long bed auto 12V Cummins in the last few weeks. Thought I'd do a brief intro before asking all kinds of questions.

I was looking for this combination for a few months and then finally, one of the local Dodge dealers traded this one in on a 2004. The sales guy had no idea how rare a truck he had. Anyway, we like it a lot. I've been digging into it a little and found a few modifications like a #11 plate, afe stage 2 intake and 4" exhaust. It's got full gages too. It's a nice truck, deep amythest blue with a matching hi-top cap. 3. 55 gears, clean.

For the most part I wanted one because we have a 2. 5 year old (who really loves going for rides in the truck) and one on the way in January. We like traveling and hope to haul a slide-in camper eventually. We're also into 4wheeling and this will make a good tow vehicle for my CJ-7 for long trips. My brother-in-law and brother both had 1st gen truck and love them.

I think this covers most of it, so now I'll hit up the drivetrain forum with some questions.

Thanks for all the info I'll glean from all of you.

KDP is on the list for Christmas break. Already found the local Cummins parts dealer to get the stuff. With everything else, I suspect it was done, but wouldn't know till I look.

Dealer installed a fresh MOPAR reman transmission and TCC. See 12 drivetrain for the thread on that.
