Well, I am new to the forum, and I have been doing lots of reading, but I have a few questions.

1). I have a 1995 dodge 3500 with 5 speed trans, and have checked out the plate, and someone installed a #5 plate. My questions is that I am going to be installing the 3K GSK and I was wondering what plate I should go with? What all adjustments will I need to make.

2). When in OD, the trans makes a little noise. I think it has been replaced, but what is the noise? Will switching to AMSOIL help the noise?

3). I have a lot of play in the steering wheel, so what needs to be replaced?

4). Where can I get the barring tool?

5). I have ordered the TST 16 cm non-wastegated housing, and I was wondering how much this will help me. How tough is this mod?

6). Any suggestions on installing my pyro, boost, and fuel pressure gauge?

7). I have replaced the air filter, fuel filter, switched the oil and filter to Amsoil. Anything else I need to do?

8). Any other recommendations? Intercooler boots\connections?

9). Anybody in Roanoke Virginia that works on Cummins? I would like to have the GSK professionally installed and have the valves adjusted. I can do the work, but I would like to professionally tuned.

10). Oh yea, my first Cummins, and all I can say is that I like BLACK smoke!

Just a few side notes: I have checked the throttle cable, and the pump is hitting the limit, and it appears the fuel thing(can't remember the name, the item with the spring and ball on the top of the injection pump) has been replaced. I moved the #5 plate all the way forward, and turned the AFC assembly in order to reduce black smoke (for now, but I will be wanting the black smoke back). I am getting about 2300 rpm's max, running about 75-80 mph top speed (not fast enough for me!).

Thanks in advance for any help.

I can help you with the barring tool. Snap on has them but it'll have to be ordered. The guy in my area said that he's NEVER sold one til now. I think it's a have to have tool if you're gonna mess with your own. If you have problem with snap on and need a number let me know.

1. can't help

2. can't help

3. Check the track bar and front end steering links

4. Got mine from Snap-On's website for around $40 if I remember right

5. It's not overly tought to do. But I have heard some guys complain about it afterwards.

6. On the EGT probe install use grease on the tap and bit to catch the shavings. Run a small pencil magnet inside the hole afterwards to help pick up any extra shavings. OR do it while you have the turbo off to change the Ex. housing. Boost is SUPER easy, theres a 10mm plug on the side on the intake manifold below the intake horn. Remove then intake horn (5 10mm bolts) and put the connection there.

7. nope

8. KDP, check how tight the boot connections are on the intercooler tubes, check the fan clutch, check the overflow valve (shouldn't squel when ya pump the hand primer on the lift pump), and just check everything over for any Shadetree mechanic fixs.

9. Running the valves is SUPER easy

10. The smoke is pretty cool and comes in handy sometimes.
