After the pipe was installed... I drove around for about an hour and a half with the sliding window open just to listen to the music. Sound like a dumptruck when I row all 6 gears. As for spool up or temps, I don't have gauges yet. VROOM VROOM!

Silencer ring is still present, I figure the turbo will be plenty whiney once I get a K&N or Psycotty.
I still can't get over pipe sounds @ about 2700 all growly and burbly.

Can you buy a straight pipe that eliminates the resonator and the muffler, or are they seperate pieces? Where can I buy it (them)?

racechaser,

Go to a local muffler/exhaust shop, prefferably independent, and ask for a 3" pipe 63" long, that will eliminate the resonator and muffler. Aluminized steel, cost me about 25 bucks. They even swedged it (swelled the ends) for me!

Joesoot, checked your Geno's link, it looks like that will take care of the muffler but does he offer one for the resonator? I've also read about in-cab drone when removing the resonator and muffler, any experiences other than negative from anyone? Sorry about all the ?'s just want to be sure before I start ordering and cutting #ad
.
Thanks,
Matt

Cut my muffler out yesterday, but left the resonator. Sounds great! I went to the local Raintree muffler shop and had a 3" muffler eliminator pipe bent for $10! Add another $15 for the 4" to 3" adapter and a 3" exhaust clamp from NAPA and I was set. A total of about $25 and I had EXACTLY the same thing as Geno's offers for about one third the price! If you want to have your own pipe bent, here are the basic specs:

I had the guy start with a 40" piece of 3" aluminized pipe. Starting at the back end, he enlarged the pipe to fit over the existing tail pipe. Immediately after that, he put a 45* upward bend in. Then next 45* bend was put in so that there was a 3. 75" rise from the back to the front. I left the rest of the pipe intact until I got home to dry fit everything and then cut it to the proper length. It took the guy about 2 minutes to bend the pipe and it took me about 1 hour to cut out the muffler and install everything. Piece of cake!

Why do you need 2 bend the pipe?

I Guess if anybody has a "straight piped" their own truck. . it would be me.

I have about 60" of 3" aluminized pipe in place of resonator and muffler.

I need to take a picture next time I'm under there... Which will be VERY soon.

Oh I see.

I guess that's why my Exhaust tip is a bit closer to my mudflap than I would like.....

Hmm. Need to fix that...
I think a 4" exhaust would be a good fix #ad
