Alright heres the deal... 1998 3500 4x4 5spd 12v.... transmission/clutch was acting a bit crazy and being i travel for a couple months at a time for work i pulled it all out of the truck to send off and have transmission rebuilt. put the driveline all back in the truck this weekend and now the truck will not start with the key. i put the key in and turn it to run and i can pull up the fuel shut off soleniod rod and it will hold and can jump the starter off with a screwdriver. turn the key off and you have to do it all over again.
i pulled the battery's out of the truck to replace them but before i did that i noticed the grid heater relays on the fender below the driver side battery is really nasty with grime from all the years the truck has on it. and notice when i moved the little wires that are plugged in on top of it that it pops and stuff as i wiggle the wires. i did check the yellow wire out the ignition switch while i turn the key and its getting power on the column.
truck started and ran just fine before pulling the transmission out. and the clutch safety switch has a jumper it. when i jumped it off with a screwdriver it runs just fine. and turn the key off and it shuts off like it is supposed to..
