I just bought 8 yr/ 125k from Chryslerwarrantydirect.com

Genuine Chrysler warranty.

Was less then Ziegler.com

Extended warranties are highly negotiable at the time of purchase of the truck just like any other accessory. Don't be afraid to haggle for the best price.

Whatever you do, go with the FCA Max Care warranty. On my previous truck, the dealer sold me a 3rd party warranty (Easy Ride, as I recall). It was basically worthless.

Even the MaxCare is NOT the same as the 3/36 warranty as I was told it was by the Sales Manager at AutoNation in Seattle.

Yeah. The max care doesn't cover any flash updates (that are not covered under recall). Some dealers might choose to do it for you at their cost if they smell more business coming their way. I might be wrong........ but pretty sure TSB's are also not covered under max care. Also Max Care has some emissions exclusions as well. The federal emissions is what is covered....... by federal law

What would be the "cost" of a flash update other than the shop hourly? I mean it doesn't exactly use something up.

i was told $35 for labor. But I declined what they offered. In fact, since Bob4x4 was telling me that the tecb can't choose what flashes update, I think I may have gotten the ones they were trying to sell me for free when they did the SCR updates (SCR recall). And now there is a recall on the occupant restraint system, that may give me all the BCU updates that have been issued since Jan.

$35 per update. Labor rate? Might vary by cost factor in different areas. Weird, because they just hook it up and do something else while it loads
