Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) "new truck"

well i got a new to me truck



1998. 5 3500 ext. dually 4X4...



is there any thing i need to look for as far as problems... like the lift pump or anything... .



plus will my chip for my old 2001 24valve fit this one?

guys, this is also my first 4x4 is there anything to look out for or be aware of... i heard you should use it every once in while whether needed or not, but not sure of anything else. . thanks guys

Checkout www.dodgeram.com good information and will answer most of your guestions. You should get a FP gauge so you can keep track of the lift pump. I have no idea about your chip?

don't know what box you have but the adapter/plug will not fit from a 98. 5 to a 2001... and the programing might be a little different if the old one was a ETH [6sp] you'll need to call the Mfg. to see if they can adapt it with a new end plug
