From what i have read... . no more then 5 psi at start-up. (could cause a hard start problem) min of 10-12 at WOT... . i run the RASP and it's set at 14-15 at WOT and 12-13 at idle. with the big line kit. it also uses the factory LP just for start-up's and with the Hobbs switch it cuts out at 8 psi after the RASP gets pumping..... i also run a autometer light just incase the belt comes off..... 10 months with zero problems..... IMO it is the only way to go... . no electric pumps to fail. and still have a back up pump.

PS... . 160,000 on org. VP and 1 LP, pump wire has been taped for 2 years.

KNOCK ON WOOD!!! :-laf

mine has 397663kms as of today. mmo and howes every tank. works for me.

My first diesel truck was a '93 CTD and now I have an '02 CTD and have used Howes in both. Never a problem with fuel systems except had to replace the LP on the '02. Came from the factory with a weak one. Question is: How much MMO should be used with each fill up?

New truck different issues.

Chris, I've been back from Hawaii for about 7- mos. now and doing construction work around Park City, Utah @ 8,000 ' elevation. Coooooooooooold, -25* low to 8* above :{ :{ :rolleyes: What was I thinking?? Not to change the topic, you know with my 2001, much like you I have blowned the head 5-times, 15 different turbo changes, blown 4-different types of turbos, 12-sets of injectors, 2-lift pumps, 4-Vp-44 injection pumps, 4-sets of cluthes, run propane, run NOS, O-ringed head (thanks to Nowell), ran about every fuel box and this was just the start. I'm sure the truck was happy to see me go, and it's living happy in Hawaii where I sold it... :cool: I don't post much only if I have something to contribute, or if I see some mis-information... You of all people know what I mean. :-{}

Anyhow, I'm driving a 3rd. gen 05' and told myself no more... however, I must have been sleeping when I said that cause I can't remember. :-laf :-laf :-laf :D

Steve--indeed I do know what you mean on misinformation---I was relating to the heart issues and not the truck issues on my original post--just glad to see you're back--don't let the green stuff stay in your wallet to long or your truck will get envious---chris

I also have a 2002 that the VP died at 63k. I almost always ran my comp box on the EZ setting, very rarely turned it up any. I always used fuel additive too. I think there was nothing I could have done any better, just the way it goes. My new HRVP44 from II is running just great now.

The old man has 232k miles on his original VP (1999 2500 5spd), it has never suffered low pressure fuel supply though...
