From what i have read... . no more then 5 psi at start-up. (could cause a hard start problem) min of 10-12 at WOT... . i run the RASP and it's set at 14-15 at WOT and 12-13 at idle. with the big line kit. it also uses the factory LP just for start-up's and with the Hobbs switch it cuts out at 8 psi after the RASP gets pumping..... i also run a autometer light just incase the belt comes off..... 10 months with zero problems..... IMO it is the only way to go... . no electric pumps to fail. and still have a back up pump.
PS... . 160,000 on org. VP and 1 LP, pump wire has been taped for 2 years.
