This is my first post and I've got a couple of questions that maybe you guys could help me with. I've tried to search for the answers before posting but didn't really find anything.
I've got a buddy that just bought a 24V '99 automatic off of ebay. He just got it today and there are a couple of obvious problems. There is a knock from what I believe to be cylinder #6, as well as, a bad fuel leak. I've tried for quite a while to find the location of the leak with no luck. I'll continue to look but my question is if it's the #6 fuel line leaking this bad, is it possible that #6 isn't gettinng fueled at all? And would it make that noise from not getting fueled? Or just bite the bullet and expect #6 to be shot and replace motor?
The other thing is, when driving it (which we had to do for a short distance) the check engine light will kick on and the engine will just drop to idle. After it coasts down about five to ten miles per hour, you can then give it throttle again. I don't have a code reader so I'm not sure what code it's sending with the check engine light. Any help on these issues would be greatly appreciated, I love this forum. Thanks in advance.
