Long Story short I needed something to tow a boat (the model with trailer we want came in around 8000 lbs) and are planning on towing it long haul to FL a couple times a year.
I did the research and decided to go with a Diesel, my uncle has a 2500 5.9 24V with over 400K and tows a large 5th wheel.
I looked and looked and looked and found a 2008 2500 with the 6.7, it was a fleet truck but i got the maint records and even with 160K on the clock seems to be in great shape.
I am in process of changing the fluids, filters, just waiting for the EGR filter to arrive. ect. I have a company car and we take the wives out of town so it may get 5k a year.
My questions:
1. is there anything I should be watching for with the truck, especially since it will sit allot! outside of the normal maint.
2. I am not trying to spark a thread about which programmer/tuner's are best ect. I like the form and function of the banks and will probably only use it to get a little better MPG and help towing.
does anyone have the banks IQ2 with programming?
what are your thoughts on performance and real world driving?
is it easy to read the display how are the gauge's?
