Newbie with an Edge 5 stage

I just bought a 2006 3500 CTD that came with a Edge chip. I know nothing about these except what I read on here. I currently am not towing anything or hauling alot of weight. I will just be driving it to work until we buy a travel trailer or 5th wheel. Haven't had it long enough to notice any mileage gains. Should I remove it all together or run it on the stock mode? I have only used the stock mode and mileage mode out of the 5 stages. I do not want to abuse the motor or start having any problems. Any advice from the experienced would be most helpful.

Here goes. Keep egt under 1300, I prefer no hotter than 1200F. Keep boost under 35-36psi. You probably won't see much or any milage gains from the Edge. The timing in its program isn't as dynamic or advanced as say a smarty JR. Egt may be an issue when towing so additional power may be limited. If you want to learn more suscribe to the TDR magazine and buy as many back orders as you can. You will learn a lot. It is well worth it. Don't be afraid to ask questions but try a search first. Someone has already asked the same question already. Most everyone here is more than willing to help.

I've had the Edge for the better part of a year and haven't noticed any noteworthy mileage gains. I keep my Edge on some of the lower settings and once in a while I turn it up and drive like a raging A-hole. I haven't had any problems attributed to the Edge and value it for its additional capabilities such as the monitoring and turbo timer. CToney is right keep the EGTs and boost down and you shouldn't have any problems. Download the Edge manual if you don't have one and read up on setting it for defueling. The Edge will defuel your truck if your EGTs or boost reach a point you set it for. Hope this helps.
