I have a 97 w/4x4 and AT. One day the a/c was working, then not. I went to have it recharged, the mechanic could not finish the check because the compressor was not getting power. He replaced a electrical piece he thot was the problem, again not. Is there a schematic for the dash unit so I can see what is going on behind it? Any thots? Mike

Not sure what that is, can you elaborate? I took the dash apart again today, and tried to take out the control panel withe the three switches on it. I got it almost out, but cannot find an appropriate tool to take out the last screw on the unit. I'll take it to a friend tomorrow and he'll be able, I hope to help with this part. I'm told it si either the vacuum switch not activating the doors, or the climate control resistor switch, or the unit is just 10-7. Thanks for the input, Mike

Under hood on passenger side you will see the two hard lines coming from evaporator, each will have a small plug, one is high pressure switch, it shuts down the compressor when it reaches its max psi, the other is low pressure, keeps compressor from running when low on freon. You can pull the plug one at a time and run a jumper wire touching both prongs and if comp turns on then you know your switch is bad
