No dome light

On my brother's 05 quad cab, the dome light doesen't come on when you open the rear driver's side door. It comes on and slowly fades off when you open and close any of the other doors, just not this one. Can't find a switch anywhere. I'm assuming it is in the door latch mechanism? Maybe a broken wire somewhere? Any help would be great, thanks.

You should inspect the wiring inside the boot in the door jamb. Pull back the boot and take a close look at atll the wires... I hear that sometimes, you will find that the power door lock on that door doesn't work either...

I am interested too. I have this problem with both of my rear doors and haven't taken time to look at the wires.

Any results about this dome light? My 07 has the same disease - driver side rear only.

Yes. We finally got around to looking at it. We pulled the rubber boot apart where the wires come into the door in the hinge area. There were broken wires right at the flex point. Spliced them back together and everything works again. This is the second time this has happened. First time was fixed at the dealer for $250 parts and labor. What I can't figure out is why they keep breaking on a door that hardly ever gets opened and not on the driver door which is opened and shut dozens of times a day.
