'07 Mega Cab, passenger rear door will not turn on the interior lights when opened. Lights work with all other doors. Can't find the switch, is it a magnet operated switch inside the door? Thought I was going blind by not finding he switch.

I believe that the switch is built into the latch itself. Pull the boot back where the wires leave the cab and enter the door and check the wires.

These trucks have a nasty habit of breaking wires right there on Quad and Mega cab trucks.

Second on the wires breaking. I just changed a harness after a few repairs. Indeed the switch is built into the door latch.

My interior lights quit a few days ago. Then miraculously started working again. They would work with the manual switch.

All the lights work with the manual switch also. I'll look behind the boot when it warm up some this weekend. Thanks for the replies and help.

wires broken in the loom between the non working door and pilar (the one thats doesn't trigger light)

inside the black boot pull one side off softly tug on each wire u should pull the broken wire out

put heat shrink on soder wire heat the shrink and ur good for a while longer

another guy bought a new loom for ike 90-140 each i believe it broke like 2 yrs latter agin

its common

Thanks JFought, I'll be they are cheap steel wires and not copper. Steel is brittle and will break, i've seen it many times in copiers.

Door open (lights/buzzer etc. ) was not working, did some reading and found this thread, thought I'd add a picture of the broken wire. Splicing wasn't too bad, dealing with that boot was the challenge. BTW, the wire sure looked like copper to me and my solder.

Does anyone have a part number for this wiring harness? I spliced mine about a year ago and the wires have done it again.

Lucky man! I just posted this very same info a few weeks back:)

Part # 56051931AB. I got the number form the dealer (who wanted $250) and ordered it from the following website for almost half that amount.

http://www.partswebsite.com/dcjpartsdiscounters/

I suggested take a snap-shot of the routing and securing of your old harness before removing it so you have a rference of where the securing pins are attached.

Pretty easy replacement.

Just plug in the part number in the block provided in the website.

V1SC, I spliced mine two weeks ago, looks like I have about 50 more weeks before it happens again. Four of the nine wires in my harness were broken, and 3 more were showing copper through the insulation. I had no speaker, door locks, or interior lights.

Attached a shot of the carnage. Definitely book marking this site. This is what I try to explain to my wife, how my TDR membership pays for itself. $117 dollar savings every time I have to order this harness!!!
