Walmart Discontinues Auto Part Sales To Prevent Car Accidents
September 3rd, 2019
#ad

BENTONVILLE, AR—In a bold move intended to curb the thousands of deaths from vehicles each and every day, Walmart has decided to stop selling auto parts, sources confirmed Tuesday.

According to shocking reports, people have purchased car parts at Walmart and then those cars have been involved in accidents, proving a direct correlation between selling auto parts and causing deaths.

"We can no longer be complicit in an industry that kills over 3,000 people a day," said a spokesperson for Walmart. "Every time we sell a muffler, steering wheel cover, or flame decal, we are potentially causing the death of a person, and we cannot support that any longer."

"It's clear that bad drivers and poor road conditions don't cause vehicular deaths---cars do."

Walmart executives said they are beating themselves with a stick to atone for the deaths they've already caused.

"Our consciences will only be clean when we've been mercilessly beaten once for each of the millions of deaths that have been caused by automobiles since Walmart began selling auto parts," said one executive before solemnly beginning to beat himself with a baseball bat.

I'm going to guess that one major driving factor behind Walmart no longer selling ammo is because of the new laws requiring ammo back ground checks and FFL requirements for anyone distributing ammo...

^^^That's just a Ca thing though

Currently yes... But we all know that it wont be long before its adopted by other states. At the very least...because its a money grab revenue source. I believe its something like $19 extra per box of ammo if you dont have a permit for that specific gun.
Oregon is trying to pass some crazy strict gun laws and so is Colorado.

I thought they were going the mental health “red flag” route?
I’ve been thinking, what happened to the sporting/ gun forum here?

You can buy whatever you want and any amount. You can buy .40 cal even if you don't own a .40

The $19 fee is for a ammo background check if you don't have proper identification and is good for 30 days.

With the right ID, all it cost to buy ammo is $1 and again, you can buy any amount for $1

Here's a link to help anyone understand what the law means to you if you're buying ammo in CA. https://www.calwaterfowl.org/navigating-californias-new-ammunition-background-check-system/

And to me, i don't need Ammo, and on the other hand, it's a free country, if Walmart decided to not sell it anymore for whatever reasons- it's their decision to do so.

Ozy, I agree it's the choice of Wal-mart to sell whatever they want, no argument there. It's also my choice to choose where I shop and it won't be Wal-mart. I can very easily get by without them as I have for years.

As my (late) father used to say, "I never want to live in a town big enough for a Wal-mart". I'll vote with my wallet and stick to local businesses as much as possible just as he did. I really don't care if it costs me an extra 10 cents, principles matter.

I get mine from Target Sports USA. Best prices I’ve found, great selection of manufacturers, and free shipping on sale items. What’s really stupid is I could drive there in about an hr but Ct. won’t allow sales to out of state buyers. However, they’re happy to allow it to be shipped here.

What's not accurate? If you're in the system, Back ground checks are $1. If you're not in the AFS, the back ground check is $19 and once you are in the AFS, your fee to buy is $1. Also, You said that it's $19 extra for ammo if you don't own that caliber of firearm.....this is TOTAL FUD

You HAVE to have purchased a "registered" gun within the dates specific in order to be in the AFS system. If you're in the system then its $1 per purchase, not all the ammo you want. And...if there are ANY discrepancies in your personal ID information then you'll have to pay the $19. And the $19 does not get you into the AFS either, and there is no 30 period.
So if you dont have a registered gun in the AFS then you're screwed and must purchase a gun in order to not have to pay $19 every time you want ammo.
Currently you're right in that there is no requirement for the ammo purchase to match your registered caliber...which seems odd so I'm sure they'll change that soon.
