Bummer!!!!!!!!!!!

Michelin is only making the LTX M/S 235/80/17 in raised white lettering, or at least thats all their web site is listing.

Who makes a an equal or at least close to the quality of Michelin, with black side lettering??.

I need to get tires for the 05. I am interested in a All Season or M/S tread.

Thanks in advance.

Why dont you try the Search feature here and you will learn that 95% of us couldnt wait for our stock Michilens to ware out. Not to sound like an *** but they suck so bad that you better hope you never need 4wd with thoes tires. That and arnt they expensive????

I'm not saying you need to go out and get a agressive MT but do your self a favor and look into something else.

Well BigDan I am one of the 5% that actually likes the stock Michelins and have no problems at all with them in the snow, ice and rain in the mountains around here. They aren't the greatest off-road, but I'm sure there aren't a lot of us taking their Dodge trucks off road a lot with stock tires and expecting them to perform like a tire more suited to that application. I also don't mean to sound like an a**.

Macdaddy, just like has been said already here, have the tires mounted with the white lettering on the inside. That will take care of your issue.

In addition to mounting them with the lettering on the inside, hit the letters with Tire Black. That way you won't have to wait for them to get dirty before they don't show when they are turned sharply.

I have two friends one with a 2wd and one with a 4x4 that BOTH replaced with the same factory Michelins. Both got 100k out of orignals! They loved them.

That sounds like a good idea, except... ... ..... it's a dually and the rears will have the beautiful raised white lettering showing.

I know their on strike and you might have to wait, but Goodyear has the new Silent Armor Wrangler available for Dodge DRW trucks. My buddy put a set on his DMAX dually last month and is happy so far. He was a little taken back by the aggressive tread with his Alcoa's, but he's okay with it now. Very quiet and smooth according to him.

Dodge Bob, whatup!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

Duh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wish it were that easy, but I need to rotate the outside rears in to the rotation. Preferably without having to remount the darn things.

Anybody with a Third Gen dually will tell you how much faster the outside rears wear having to leave them on the outside rear, and not get them into the rotation due to their reverse offset.

Hey G what up neighb

I already checked em out but there again the 17's only come in ORWL :{

I can get the 235/85/16's in BSW all day long but I guess they Michelin, and Goodyear think everyone with 17's need to be "Sporty".

Cooper tires

If anything they have a impressive website,I like the Discover M+S and thank god it comes with BSW.

I have no idea what quality they are. Will they last anywhere near the mileage that the Michelins will.

Sorry Mac, I didn't know about the ORWL thing. The blackwall should be coming, as it actually takes less work to make one?

The GY Silent Armor looks pretty nice. I have Just Tires trying to locate a set of 6 for me, as I need to replace my tires as well.

The General Ameritracs look AWFUL with only 27,000 miles, and I don't think they will pass PA state inspection next month.

Let me just say. Weighing 30,000 pounds and traveling at 90MPH for 45 minutes, a few times a week. We have NEVER in 15 yrs have had a blowout, or treads seperation in our Kumho's (14ply), or Michelins.

However, I have never worn out a Cooper. In fact, every cooper I have ran either got replaced because of poor wear, chunking, or causing $1k+ of damage to the truck.

I'm hearing what your throwin down.

The Generals on mine have 38K and the outside rear wear bead is about to show it's ugly head.

The other four have a good 20K at least!!, left on them.

What a waste. #@$%!

I guess you are saying to stay away from the Coopers??

Mac

I have had the Goodyears which came on the truck and were not all that bad. I have had the Cooper, and I have had the Michelin LTX's. The most impressive thus far are the new Parelli Scorpions ATR's I have on the truck now. Much quieter than the Michelin's and better traction in the snow than anything I have tried thus far.
