Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) no muffler-- higher egts?

Has anybody ever done a test to see if you run a muffler or straight pipe to see if it makes a difference in your egts?

My 97 dropped 100* when I replaced the stock exhaust with a 5" rapid flow.

I Have A 5in. That I Installed With A Muffler. Then I Straight Pipe It And The Egts Seem To Climb Fast-- Or Is It My Eyes Are Playing Tricks.
