I went to use my old truck after sitting for a little bit and had no power steering or brakes. zero. The last time I drove it all was fine and no indication of a problem. Fluid is full. The HVAC controls all work so I assume the vacuum pump is turning. What else can I check before swapping the pump? Is the old girl just jealous of the replacement truck?

Not much you can do other than pull the power steering pump. Either the pump has failed internally or the coupler is broken between the vacuum pump and the power steering pump.

I recommend pulling the vacuum pump / power steering pump as a unit and replacing the vacuum pump shaft seal, even if it is not leaking. The vacuum pump shaft seal hardens after many heat cycles. It won't leak until you remove and re-install the power steering pump. Guess how I know.
