no radio reception

This morning the 8.4 stopped receiving am and fm radio signals. Even the presets are empty. Satellite works (not signed up) on the one channel that promotes you to join. Media from cell phone works also, just no am, fm. Any ideas?

Did you have the trial subscription and, if so, when did it expire? Your symptoms are similar to when mine went thru a major update, but it cleared up after a bit over an hour (except for a complete wipeout of the memory presets). Have you attempted manual tuning to a station?

Hi guys, no problem with going off topic. I liked the 70s myself. Manual tuning does not work. Yes I had a trial subscription and re-newed it a few times. Ive had no Sirius for al least a year. U-connect said I need a software update and the dealer is the only place to get that done. She also said that update would be free and sent to all radios at some point in the future but no eta as of this time. The dealer wants $130.00 to update software. Its not covered under the 3-36 warranty (truck is 3.5 years old). Dealer also stated that their tech thinks (from past experience) the radio will lock up after updates and everything will stop working. At that point he says its new radio time. Extended warranty company will cover the new radio if it comes to that. Im going to try and get it in next week. will keep you all posted. Until then keep your platform shoes shinny.

This morning the dealer updated the software. No change. They ordered a radio. No eta, they are on nationwide backorder. Parts guy said it could be three months.

I'm big on listening to music on the roll. Getting the Infotainment system on my 2017 5500 and wife's 2019 1500 were the biggest concerns. Interactive Voice Response System is terrible, Nav system too, and when it craps out, several features/options not accessible.

And, being on national backorder tells me a lot of them are messing up.

Please keep us updated... its possible some of us may have problems too.

well the radio came in and was installed. I paired the new radio to my phone. It works ok now however the radio can no longer see my phones contact list. Should I try re-pairing the phone to the radio?
