Fuel Gauge not working

On my 04, the speedometer quit working, the cruise control quit, the overhead head outside temp quit, brake light and ABS lights are on, on the dash. Thought it was the speed sensor in the rear differential, but it wasn't. Anyone have any ideas of what may be causing this?

No Codes. Search the forums, most everything pointed to the speed sensor and talked with a Dodge tech, bought speed sensor, installed but nothing changed.

Most likely either a corroded connection to the CAN bus (communications port) or some failure of the dashboard computer (it's part of the gauges). You need to have the codes, turn the key off/on 3 times then holding it on (but don't crank engine) to read ENGINE CODES,

and also the DASHBOARD CODES test is done like this:

With the engine off, key off,

press trip reset and hold pressed,

turn ignition to run, but don't crank,

let go of reset button and read codes.

I have a code reader, there are no codes. Appreciate your input.

Its a CAB or ABS controller, we just got done having the exact same thing happen with the 100% identical symptons.

about 400 bucks for the part and 65 for labor

Thanks Jason. Think I will see if I can find one at the Auto salvage yard.

You need to read the codes in the ABS module. You can't read them with a generic scan tool. It might be worth it to have the dealer pull the codes before you buy a $400 part.

It's going to the dealer tomorrow for diagnostics and hopefully repair. Going on a vacation on Friday and would like to have it working.

Do your self a favor and check your ABS fuse first. This happened to mine and thats all it was. Did you add any electrical accessories as of late?

Greg

Thanks I'l check that next. The only thing I've added was a GPS, nothing hardwired. It could be the fuse, it started after I got a jumpstart and the cables got crossed.
