The knobs are fine and shouldn't pose any vibration problems like the levers. I don't know of any binding problems with the lever just the internals. These will still be there with the electric actuator your just won't know it.

How does the knob keep you from trying to go into low range? Is there a detent?

SMorneau, your comments may, or may not, have been valid for the earlier generations but they're not true for the 3rd gens. :rolleyes:

The AA LSDs give nice, smooth, even traction to both wheels (even if a "touch" of brake is sometimes useful). "Put your rearend sideways"? Not hardly!

If, by "lose steering" you mean increased steering effort, you'll find that to be virtually non-existant at speed and only marginally noticeable at, or below, walking rate. On the other hand, if you meant loss of steering control, you might want to rethink this: at worst, 4WD provides you with a Front Wheel Drive vehicle whose rear tires give a bit of "push".

The issue over the "dial-a-drive" concerns the documented requirement to have the transmission in Neutral and be travelling less than 5 MPH before the transfer case will shift into (or out of) 4Low.

When I was preparing to order my truck, I was unable to determine which would be the better choice: LSD or 4WD. Fortunately :D I made the right decision and ordered it with both.

On-road/off-road, mud/sand/wet grass/snow/ice/dry pavement, empty/hauling, I couldn't be happier with the way this truck handles. :D

Mopar_Mudder,

Actually, I'm too scared to even try to snake my truck through the trees!!:eek:

Heck, I have enough problems going in the drive-thru window at McDonalds!:D

I usually leave the Jeep behind in the real tight stuff and take the dirt bike. Yes, I know, that's cheating:rolleyes: , but if it makes any difference I go really fast!

LOL

Dave

ps. saw a picture of your offroad toys. looks like alot of fun.

Jeeps are cool, just makes ya mad when they are strolling through the woods and I am going 6 point turns at every corner. Their just kinda like big ATV's, LOL. I stick to 4 wheels, trucks and ATV's, don't think I would like long on a bike :eek: but you are right, they are fast, it is the sudden stop that sucks :{
