Hello,
I have a 1998.5 dodge Cummins 5 speed 4x4 extended cab long bed and I just replaced the injection pump, put an airdog 100 lift pump on the frame, new throttle position sensor, rebuilt injectors, and put a new camshaft position sensor on it all within the last 24 hours. The truck starts and idles fine maybe even a little better than it did before but I have no throttle response whatsoever. From no throttle all the way to wide open the engine rpm doesn't change at all. Please help any advice is needed at this point as this is my only vehicle! The truck has no check engine light so I have no codes to chase. I am in dire need to get this truck back on the road.

I take it your engine is not revving when you press down on the go pedal.
I check the connector at the tps, make sure the pins ate not bent or loose. Check connectors at the go pedal.
The the vpr44 injection pump has a sensor (or the crank position sensor) *sets a code if the cam shaft doesn't *agree with there position.*
I also make sure all the wiring/connections to the lift/fuel pump and the ecm are good.

My fathers work has a scanner that he believes has a data chart on it. I will see if I can use it. But with the truck only being able to idle I can't take the truck there

There's no check engine light and the throttle cable is connected. I have tried revving the truck right from the throttle position sensor and still nothing. I haven't checked the pins so I will do that. I tested the voltage output and it read .4(I think) and at wot it was 3.2 volts. So it is working in that aspect. I am going to test the ohms of the wire between the tps and ecm to see if it has a short and I don't have any idea after that

Call around and see if you have a Cummins or Dodge shop that has a VP-44 breakout box. It powers the pump and allows it to fire up and idle or run up to speed. If that functions correctly, the pump and electronics are known good and the problem is on the truck.

A scanner would tell you TPS info at the ecu and likely be of more value to you at this point.

Yeah realtime data would work great. When I was at college my class had a snap-on scanner than would show love data and that's how I found out I was having overboost codes

I read the whole BlueChip page about the VP44 and i found no answers to my problem. I killed my batteries working on it trying to search and find stuff online to test. Im not very good at using a volt meter as i am horrible with electricity stuff. The TPS/APPS seems to be working fine at the sensor itself but i cant figure out how to test it at the ECM on the block. I still have no check engine light and I put 1 new battery in it died even though both batteries were purchased and installed December 5, 2016. I am at a loss. I got into contact with Thoroughbred Diesel since The injection pump was from them. The guy I talked to which I cant recall his name was at a loss too. He said he would get ahold of me again but I never heard anything else from anyone over there. I learned that the first pump that was put on this truck had the exact same problem. He installed a pump and it started and idled fine but had no throttle whatsoever. So he ordered another and sent the old new pump back and it fixed the issue. I am trying to figure out how to test connection between TPS/APPS and ECM and test between ECM and PCM aswell as ECM to VP44. To my knowledge the throttle signal goes in that order. I don't have access to a Scanner to monitor data and I don't believe our small dodge dealership is going to have a breakout box and I don't have funds to rent or buy the tool if it very much. I desperately need this truck back on the road and I am probably going to call BlueChip tomorrow as their VP44 write up insists on calling them if my problem is not listed.
