All new Ram in 2019?

Like I have said before, you buy the Ram for the Cummins not because it is FCA. That said, one of those new-fangled LED's would take care of the bulb burning out prematurely or because of it breaking from the hood getting slammed.

My first one 1989 had a under the hood light on a reel. The light had a magnet on it so you stretch all the way to the back wheel in case you needed to change a rear tire, etc. My 2004 does not have any under the hood light. Can't tell you how many times I wish I had removed the one on the 1989 before I sold it.
Anything to save some money.

There's some really good and inexpensive LED work and flashlights out there that I'd prefer over any OEM underhood light I've ever seen.

Those reel lights are nice (had one on an old Chevy) but they're so 1980's. ;)

That's what I was gonna say. You can get a cheap magnetic mount LED light from Harbor Freight Tools that you can stick to the hood, to the rear fender, to your friends Chevy, etc. For a couple dollars more you can probably get a rechargeable little LED light and keep it plugged in to your cigarette lighter or USB plug and always have a charged light at the ready.

I've always found those little under hood lights to be too small and too poorly placed to really be of value for actually checking anything like fluid levels or battery terminals.

Nebo slider flash light with strong magnetic base to the rescue! With the magnetic base you can place it anywhere you like. It has a flash light and a seperate side slide light that can stay on or blink if you like. There are two separate lights in one 8" long unit. I buy these for work and bought them for Christmas gifts.
You can leave it in the truck, it will charge off your USB port.
