Don,

I'm glad you found my post amusing - it wasn't intended to be. We have absolutely no context surrounding the pictures shown on TV. For all we all they could have been told that Iraq attacked the US in the opening round of WWIII.

Let me guess - you've never cheered when a mass murderer was executed.

Brian

Brian,

I think one of the reasons for the camps for those of japanese decent had more to do with Pearl Harbor and our perception of the devious nature in which that operation was apparently pulled off. There has been some evidence (not sure of the quality thereof) that there was some misscommunciation in the delivery of the Declaration of War from Japan that possibly caused the appearance. The Germans on the other hand were somewhat less devious in appearance to waging war, although some of the war crimes of WWII were shown to be as heinous as any ever conceived by a human.

Stranger still, the Japanese American combat units performed admirably under fire and were some of the highest decorated units to fight on the allied side yet their friends and families were basically imprisoned. That is a fact a lot of folks have never heard. The Tuskeegee Air unit distinguished themselves as did the Post Civil War "Buffalo Soldiers" of the Western frontier did before them. Interesting how some of these outstanding units get overlooked in history, yet they had to work 5 times harder for recognition than the average Joe.

These ******** think they go to a higher level of Heaven if they die in a war with us. We need to help a heck of a lot of them on ther way.

Ok, so I'm not politicaly correct. So I am unfeeling for those different. I came by my feelings honestly.

(Racist remark edited out) - Steve St. Laurent (Lead Moderator)

Brian,

Are you to have me believe they did not know WHY they were laughing? If they were told Iraq attacked us and laughed, do you think they are our enemy? Of course they are.

They were laughing becasue we got hurt. Nothing more. Stop the rediculous little "what ifs"

Don~

Orgin

Well, folks I am so sorry for my un-political correctness in this time of death and suffering.

When is America going to wake up?Do you really think there is such a thing as a clean war??????We have committed many more atrocities in the wars (and so-called police actions)than you can imagine. Were they right NO,were they wrong,MAYBE. It all depends I guess where you at at the time. War is war, people DIE,children DIE,almost everyone dies and the people that live through it have pernament scars. How can that be corrected?Lower ourselves?I think not. Fight on a level playing field,YES sir..... I don't think one US serviceman life should be risked to take out even one of these #$@^%$!Give em a taste of cruise... ... .

I am so sorry for calling these terorists a bad name. I did NOT mean to offend any American of middle east desent... ... . I meant to offend the perpertrators of this act of terorism!!!!!

The Japanese determent was not a good thing. However it was done because of a sneak attack on Pearl Harbor. The Germans didn't sneak they stomped into Europe and killed everone who got in their way. Following a mad man.

I apoligize to anyone who I offended. Almost all of us were imigrants at one time to this great nation. I will defend there freedoms, and help protect their homes. I don't care what their nationality, color, creed,or religion is... ... ...

Thank you for your level headed response Champane Flight! I think you understand my and Powerwagons posts as they were meant to be taken. Believe me guys when I say I am one of the most un-PC guys around - I absolutely abhor political correctness. I cannot however stand by when an entire race of people is being blasted with racial slurs simply because of their heritage. I could name off many racial slurs of other nationalities or ethnicities that I'm sure would hit home with at least some of those that are now blasting people from the mid-east. How would you like to be attacked simply by being a member of the same race or nationality as a small group that's perpetrated horrific hostilities? I have news for you - nearly EVERY race and nationality has done horrific things at one time or another! Remember the Oklahoma City bombing? That was a white anglo saxon - does that mean that all of us are mad men? NO! As I said in my above post those that are responsible for this horrific action and the countries that are supporting or protecting them SHOULD and I hope WILL pay the price for their actions (and that unforetunately includes the innocent people in those countries as well - but that is the price we have to pay). Let's attempt to keep our rage in control and vent it at those who are responsible (the individuals and the societies that allow it) - and not vent it at an entire race of people, PLEASE!

BTW - we are still awaiting word from one of my wive's best friends who works in Manhatten to see if she's ok, keep her and all the other victims and potential victims in your thought!

To all,

A few thoughts of the day. Very unedited and somewhat rough to say the least.

Our moral posturing about our degradation is merely

embarrassing. We have been made fools of, expertly and calculatedly, in

the one of greatest military defeats the country has suffered since we fled from

Viet Nam. The Moslem world is laughing and dancing in the streets.

The casualty figures aren't in, 10,000 dead seems reasonable, and we

wring our hands and speak of grief therapy.

We cannot stop it from happening again. Thousands of aircraft

constantly use O'Hare, a few minutes flying time from the Sears Tower.

Some of our politicians and talking heads speak of "a cowardly act of

terrorism. " It was neither cowardly nor, I think, terrorism. Hijacking an

aircraft and flying it into a building isn't cowardly. Would you do it? It

requires great courage and dedication -- which our enemies have.

One may mince words, but to me the attack looked like an act of

WAR. Not having bombing craft of their own, they used ours. When we

bombed Hanoi and Hamburg, was that terrorism?

The attack was beautifully conceived and executed. These guys are

good. They were clearly looking to inflict the maximum humiliation on the

United States, in the most visible way possible, and they did. The sight of

those two towers collapsing will leave no ones mind. If we do nothing of

importance in return, the entire earth will see that some in our nation are epicenes.

Silly cruise-missile attacks on Afghanistan will just heighten the indignity.

In watching the coverage, I was struck by the tone of passive

acquiescence. Not enough, in hours of listening, did I hear many express

anger. No one said, coldly but in deadly seriousness, "People are going to

die for this, a whole lot of people. " There was talk of tracking down bin

Laden and bringing him to justice. "Terrorism experts" spoke of months

of investigation to find who was responsible.

The Israelis, when hit, hit back. They hit back hard. Perhaps two-thirds of

the newscasters spoke of the attack over and over as a tragedy, as

though it had been an unusually bad storm -- unfortunate, but inevitable,

and now we must get on with our lives.

We haven't conceded that most of the Moslem world is our enemy, nor that we

are at war. We see each defeat and humiliation in isolation, as a unique

incident unrelated to anything else. The 241 Marines killed by the truck

bomb in Beirut, the extended humiliation of the hostages taken by Iran,

the war with Iraq, the bombing of the Cole, the destruction of the

embassies in Kenya and Tanzania, the devastation of the Starke, the

Saudi barracks, the dropping of airliner after airliner -- these we see as

anecdotes, like pileups of cars on a snowy road. They see these things as

war.

Do we face an enemy more intelligent than we are in some respects?

We think we are a superpower. Actually we are not, except in the

useless sense of having nuclear weapons. We could win an air war with

anyone, yes, or a naval war. Few Americans realize

how small our forces are today, how demoralized and weakened by social

experimentation. If we had to fight a ground war in terrain with cover, a

war in which we would take casualties, we could lose.

I have heard some grrr-woofwoofery about how we should invade

Afghanistan and teach those SOB's a lesson. Has anyone noticed where

Afghanistan is? How would we get there? Across Pakistan, a Moslem

country? Or through India? Do we suppose Iran would give us overflight

rights to bomb another Moslem country? Or will our supply lines go across

Russia through Turkmenistan? Do we imagine that we have the airlift or

sealift? What effect do we think bombing might have on Afghanistan, a

country that is essentially rubble to begin with?

We backed out of Somalia, a Moslem country, when a couple of GIs got

killed and dragged through the streets on TV. Afghans are not pansies.

They whipped the Russians. Some of our sensitive and socially-conscious troops

would curl up in balls.

To win against a more powerful enemy, one forces him to fight a kind

of war for which he isn't prepared. Iraq lost the Gulf War partly because it fought

exactly the kind of war in which American forces are unbeatable. Hussein

played to his weaknesses and our strengths. The Vietnamese did the

opposite. They fought a guerrilla war that didn't give us

anything to hit. They understood us. We didn't understand them.

The Moslem world is doing the same thing. Because their troops, or

terrorists as we call them, are not sponsored by a country, we don't know

who to hit. Note that Yasser Arafat, bin Laden, and the Taliban are all

denying any part in the destruction of New York. At best, we might, with

our creaky intelligence apparatus, find Laden and kill him. It's not worth

doing; Not only would he have defeated America as nobody ever has, but

he would then be a martyr. Face it; Some Arabs are smarter than we are.

We are militarily weak because we have done what we usually do; If

no enemy is immediately in sight, we cut our forces too far back, stop most

R&D, and focus on sensitivity training about homosexuals.

The only way we could save any dignity and respect in the world would be to

hit back so hard as to make teeth rattle around the world.

Don~

Doing.

Don,you hit the nail on the head. I believe that most of us are anger because we can't do anything about it. You cannot fight a guerilla war with conventional warfare. No matter if we had the strongest military in the universe we can not win a war of this type.

I do not however believe our military is as weak as you say. I know several kids out there in different services and they and the military are ready. The real question is,are we?:(

The words are mostly just ramblings from a very tired and pissed off guy.

I understand the might of or military. My reason for saying such is to rally the guys that are against increasing our military strength.

This could really get nasty. Looks like some of the bad guys were from Egypt and Algeria. We may have battles going on all over the Middle East. If we had to fight a two front war... . your guess is as good as mine. China could see us as weak and we just got into with them.

Did you see the A. P. report of the guys caught at the Mexican border?

Iraqis,Jordanians,Israelis, and Armenians. They were in Mexico trying to get into the US. Why were they in Mexico? Strange huh?

As far as our Military goes... I have several good friends that keep me posted.

Our economy is surely to suffer, we will loose more people and I feel the terrorist crap is not over. There are plenty of people here left with a religious axe to grind.

A hard rain could surely fall.

muddymess - weren't the chinese our allies in WWII?

swamp rat - well said, thank you for the post

CF - no offense taken but I will call anybody on it when they make out of line generalizations.

Steve - you said it better than I ever could. You've summed up my feelings as well.

Don M - your last two posts are pretty impressive. I'm utterly amazed that we agree on somethings. Regarding the cheering folks - I'm pretty sure there are some folks over there that are not cheering but going 'holy **** what have they done' - you just won't see/read about them in the news.

Brian

I was watching the news and they were interviewing the "revrend" jerry falwell And he said it best, take them off the face of the earth

Damn............

I guess it's going to be a cold day in hell tomorrow, I have to agree with Jerry Falwell... ... ... ... . guess there is a first time for everything!

At war.

If we are truley at war with these nations, then we should act as though we are at war. The gas rationing, the draft, the closing of our borders, and the mobilization of all our troops. It has turned out,as usual the men responsible for these acts are from all over the middle east. Saudi,Algeria, ect, ect. These countrys have habored terorists for years. We even have bases in Saudi. Get our people out now. An ultimatum has to be sent to all these nations,"Release all your terorist factions to us now or pay the price"!!!!Right now we are all in shock, but we had better put the armor on NOW.

We have made some terrible mistakes in the past. One is when dealing with these idiots we have shown weakness(The allowing of Sadam to stay in power). When you go to war you do not stop at someones border and say "thats enough,we showed em". You have to take the country and occupy it. If you don't have the stomach for it,don't do it!Our country has tryed and tryed to negotiate peace in the middle east. We get thanks like this.

These factions have no respect for human life, they have no fear of dying, and they believe with all their hearts that their cause is rightgeous. Think real hard, how do you fight this? You have to convince a people that have been brainwashed to a point of being a zombie... ... . (sorry to all the Zombies out there)to laydown their arms. We all want to make the right decision here. If we don't we all may end up in Armegedon.....

I know that not everyone that looks like they're from the middle east are anti-American or are behind the forces that made this happen.

BUT...

There are reports from right here on the Island and NJ that certain neighborhoods with "Middle Eastern" folks were celebrating the attacks, and now our tax dollars have to pay to protect them AND those that really need the protection from nut cakes that may hurt them.

I have a very good friend that is from Saudi Arabia (sp?) but born in Pakistan (sp?), and still practices his believes from where he was born. I admit I'm totally ignorant to all of the sects and religions there... but he's a good man... and loves the US. I would/will protect him... But those in those reports of celebrating the attacks RIGHT here within miles of where it happened...

I say report em to the FBI and let them be arrested for dis-orderly and endangering conduct. Cause they will start a riot that will get them selves killed. This is disgusting.

I hate to say it, but when the war starts we may need to do what was done in WWII...

Madness..

I have been pondering this and basically it comes

down to "We're Damned if we do, Damned if

we don't" (retaliate).

-Chris

Another Idiot.

Jerry Falwell, another idiot. He also said "the reason for the WTC attack is we are being punished cause of the Gays,Lesbians, and abortionists". What an idiot... ... ..... Not much better than Bin Laden.

Flight:

This is not a racial dig, so either you are a fool, an idiot or lack the ability to read very far and see what a man said.

I am neither a Fawell supporter, but that is not what he said. . You need to read the entire text of his statement. But along those lines any country that was started in one belief, which was a "God fearing nation" and then shakes Him off like a dirt on the shoulder, is mocking Him and will pay the end results. If you are a Jew, Hindu,Buddist, or Muslim you don't belive that . And thats OK. As a Christian you believe what scripture says. You allow these other ones in and the results is what you see. Dissension in Christian ranks and bitter feeling on the post we see now.

I don't look for an argument but I will not walk away from a moral fight. You really should read the entire text of what was said. The liberial media is not going to print from the Christian perspective. There is bias that will not go away.

Peace.

. . Preston. .

Face it, we are dealing with barbarians. Cut the heads off anybody that is connected with this unimaginable crime (including bin laden and sadaam hussein), and parade them through the same streets that there where celebrations in. Sounds harsh I know... but that is the only justice these animals understand.

Falwell is an idiot, I don't know what he said, but the man has nothing to do with HONEST RELIGION.

I'm sure he was asking for donations to help him fight Satan and Bin Lowdown.

Next Jim Baker will be back, helping us out!
