Make sure you put the boost elbow in. Keep your settings 4/4 or under, Cycle your motor on and off 5 times to reset code error.

If you have the newer version you shouldnt have any codes. My truck is real sensitive to connections so make sure they are all real tight. One time I hit a bump real hard and my check engine light came on and it threw a code. I cheked under hood but everything seemed tight. I wiggled the connections a little and reset the codes with the powerpup and they went away. When I got home I applied some dielectric grease or whatever its called and havn't had a problem since.

Did you actually put the dielectric grease inside the connectors or just around the plastic, sealing them as they slip/clip together?

I was advised to do both sparingly... when you clip the connectors together, the grease is forced out into the nooks and crannies thereby giving a good seal from the elements and good metal-to-metal contact. After connected, I just wiped up the excess globs.

Will, I notice that your sig says you had the Banks. Did you replace it with the TST box? What are your impressions between the two so far?

I wouldn't use dielectric grease unless your having a rust or corrosion problem. (dielectric) meaning nonconductive you can fill the whole socket up with it with no worries until the motor gets hot then it's all going to run out and down your wire harness. Eventually the dust and grime will collect on it and you will be worse off than when you started.

I have had my TST installed for a month now and weekly I get the check engine light with the codes of P0336, P0606, and P0480. After I get the Check engine light to go away and the truck runs great for a while, the light will come on again as the engine sort of sputters, which I feel is the timing. The TST box I have has the serial number of 23XX something or other. I do know the first two numbers are correct. So I am sure it has the new program in it.

Saccowboy,

I notice yours is an SO also, I wonder if the the program has something to do with conflicting programs in our trucks.

Maybe It a SO thing. Mine Always has the P0336 and P0606 on the computer and i think it has or had the cooling fan speed error as well. Mine doesnt ever run any different whether the CEL is on or not. The only way my light comes on is if it cold out and I'm lugging the truck in too big of gear, sometimes the truck will miss/studder and on the third time it kicks the light on. After a few starts the light goes off.

I get the light once a week or so. Tonight after I gunned it it came on. I ignore it.

Now this thing about the fan speed... you mean the main engine cooling fan? They can sense cooling fan speed? reason I ask is I think my fan clutch is going. It's been making strange noises lately.

I have a 4. 5 and have had the TST about 9 months now(Approx 12,000 miles). I have not set any codes. It is ran on 3/3 every day. I have no complaints. . Increased mileage by 1. 5-2 mpg and fun factor at least twice that. I did not use any dieletric grease just made sure everything conected up securely.

Maybe it is an SO problem. I got mine from AK Ram and he had problems with it on his SO. Installed it on my HO and have had no problems since. Ordered a second box to try different programs on and got the cam code once. Cleaned and reseated the connectors and zero problems again. You guys may be on to something.

hey sorry didnt get back sooner, ive been away all weekend! well the banks was ok. it would be a good box for towing and with all the added safety features would make it pretty hard to hurt your truck! but if your looking for pure performance you cant beat the tst!!!!! i am thinking about stacking an ez to give it a little more rail pressure and smooth it out. if your not looking to upgrade the transmission and turbo then i would go with the banks kit. i had it on for a little over a month testing it for my diesel mechanic and was pretty impressed. it dyno'd 118hp and 245lb feet above stock opn level 6 with speed loader. hope that helps a little

well guys yes i have a SO and i installed the tst on friday night, ive got no complaints at all it runs like its got a firecracker up its A**. ive got the 3. 73's with the 315's and it pulls hard right from 1500rpms which is pretty cool. so anyways i had the check engine light on first startup and it hasnt gone away ever!

0633 SKIM key not programmed in PCM

0606 Internal ECM processor

0602 Control Module programming Error/not programmed

I have seen all of these codes at one time or another on mine. None of these ever affected my truck but were there for some reason. I would be surprised if your CEL doesn't go off in a few more start-ups

Must be an SO problem. I don't even pay attention to my CEL anymore. I always have 2 or 3 codes stored. Mine is an 03' SO. I used to always run on 6X9, but have found that I can run better at 5X5 and stay cooler while doing so.

A while back I had called TST and spoke to Mark. He has said he looks at the websites we post on and has never seen where people have found the p0336 and p0606. Maybe before no one really asked about it. I am sure I have seen the same codes with other complaints before this thread.

Even though I get a CEL once in a while and as long as the same codes are there and not any new codes, I am not to worried about it, becasue the TST rocks!!! But I find it weird that the SO trucks seem to be reacting the same to the new TST program.

I don't know about the rest of you and your dealings with TST. Nice people to talk to, but this same old song and dance is getting very old. I have talked to Mark over half a dozen times about my SO throwing the same codes, missing, lighting the dash, and trust me when I say he is well aware of it. I went through three different programs to no avail, yet I keep hearing that Mark is still telling people the same line. I remember talking to him about these codes and him acknowledging the problem, saying that some early build 3rd Gens just have this problem and they don't know why (if that is not pinpointed acknowledgement, I don’t know what is). Then a month later after forgetting he talked to me swear up and down they didn't have any trucks with these code problems and that their latest program had fixed all issues…. not on my truck. I also have a good friend that did the same exact thing, had a good, productive conversation with Mark about these issues, then a few weeks later swear he didn't say that. Imagine the lost revenue if everyone with these code problems suddenly sent their box back for a refund under their "Satisfaction Guaranteed" policy. This is getting very old and Mark's credibility... ... never mind. Reckon they are reading this thread to?
