graduation for Holeshot...& stuff (long)
... . Hmmmm, we should start a thread to figure out how you tune exhaust pipes, not for performance, but for the actual musical notes. Can you see a whole line of Cummins revving out, "Da Dumpta Di Dum Dum... " (if that didn't survive translation, think of Pomp & Circumstance) Holeshot would be so proud... probably shed a tear or two because of all the soot... .
This is good. I'm IN! Centrally located is good. Moving the meets around is good; gives some of us a chance to make a meet that isn't so far away, gives some of us the chance to drive and caravan for meets that are clear over on the other side of New England. Folks from Montana, feel free to fall down laughing.
Other ideas I have heard, in no special order:
- include folks that drive diesels from the 'Other' brand. This has worked well so far at more than one event, the last being the dyno. My sense is it tends to turn down the brand loyalty rhetoric and extends the definition of who is in the 'Brotherhood'. I like the idea of our chapter being inclusive rather than exclusive. Heck we let VeeTen hang out with us, and it isn't just for his deep fryer either, though we may need to put a special clause in the bylaws just for him
- the wrench day we've had so far seems to take the prize for most fun we've had with our clothes on. We should do more of these and in different locales. People may disagree and that's okay, this is based on my own informal survey. An excuse to get together, do something, and have fun seems to work best.
- we would like to have wives, girlfriends, er, Significant Others feel included somehow, but we,
er, aren't sure how.
- we'd like to keep the chapter simple. Just enough structure to make it easy to enjoy each other's company. But we do need something of a charter so that everyone knows what the 'rules' are.
There it is for anyone to agree or disagree. As I say, these are ideas that I have heard and aren't neccessarily my own opinions--I'm not especially attached to anything so I can't be flamed.
BTW, I'm collecting email addresses and vital stats on people that are interested in being part of the North East . . or is it New England TDR ... or is it TDP? PM me if I don't have your address already and you are interested.
Thanks!
