(Unofficial) N.E.P.A. Chapter of the TDR Springtime Meet n’ Greet.

Pa Tdc

Yep, we've started a PA TDC. (Pennsylvania Turbo Diesel Club)

No dues, and no rules.

I wanted to get an opinion poll to gauge interest in a local club. No mandatory meetings. No cost involved.

Some of us are willing to lend a hand or bring some tools (beer would be good :) ) But there is absolutely no obligation.

We could arrange a coffee night or ... ahem, a Hooter's night. Ladies, an alternative suggestion? (I don't think we have any female members in this corner of the woods, do we?)

Maybe a convoy to the Spring Fling or Fall Brawl. They have sled pulls at the Harford Fair. Almost forgot the Bloomsburg Jamboree. That would be a great get-together. Family day at Knoebel's Groves?

I'm just throwing ideas out there. Any and all suggestions would be welcome.

Did I miss anything?

Posted 12/14: Our Meet -n- Greet will be at the Petro's Truck Stop in Avoca in January. More to come.

Hi guys,thanks for posting.

I don't have a place picked out yet. I'm still fishing for info. If it were summertime we'd have a lot more choices.

There's a State park nearby where I could get the pavilion for the day. And for those that wouldn't want to drive, there's camping there too. (they take fivers too)

Just one example is the Friday's in W-B. Lots of parking and it's right next to Interstate 81.

I'm in the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton area, but I'm more than willing to drive.

Bensalem is about two hours according to Yahoo. It's a straight shot up the pike.

Bullville is less than two.

I take back my poll and YES LETS MAKE IT OFFICAL!!!!!!! :) :)

Im willing to meet up in the scranton/Wilkes Barre/Clarks Summit areas

Ill make a few phone calls im trying to get a couple of my buddys to get a CTD so we will see

THIS WILL BE AWSOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Michael

Nice to see that you checked in Mike... I mean, Mr. Vice President. :-laf

Some other suggestions guys. . using a fire hall that is available for rental,

requesting the meeting room at a diner or restaurant. There is a diner in Moosic that comes to mind and Marvelous Mugs restaurant has a room set aside. That one is right next to the Montage exit off of I-81.

Kelly,B. Ferrara is there a place closer to you that you'd like to suggest?

(I used to take the pike to Quakertown five days a week for a year. I put about 50,000 on the odometer that year!)

vssman, let us know if you come in for Christmas and want to visit.

P. S. The CT guys are having a Christmas Cheer party. I'm sure they wouldn't mind if someone brought some cheer with them. :)

My father has a '95 with a KDP that hasn't been done yet. I plan on doing it in the spring. That might be something that others would like to see. Or if others want to do theirs at the same time, that's good to. I have lots of tools and room for a bunch of trucks.

I titled it the NEPA club but that does not imply that anyone from outside of this corner of the state is not to be included. As far as I know there is nothing between the MD chapter and the CT crew. So anyone that is interested is more than welcome to say hello.

Hi,

I'm from Nazareth PA. WB or Bensalem works for me. It would be great to meet up with other people from the TDR. I don't know anyone else that has one to compare notes with.

Torque, I heard a little bit about you guys... I heard you're "special". :-laf

Let me know if you can't drink all that beer by yourself. :p

Welcome aboard HParfitt! Consider yourself an official member of the unofficial group! (I have to stop saying that before I wear it out)

Our list is growing.

I agree, a meet and greet would be nice once in a while. All suggestions are welcome.

Maybe someone will show me how to change the plugs in this thing.

I took my father (retired diesel mechanic) to Kaufmann's for a dyno day when I first got on the TDR. All that I knew was that the dyno event was a TDR thing.

Turns out it was sponsored by the MDTDC. They treated us like old friends.

What a nice group of people. Our pic is floating around somewhere from that day.

Macungie, Pa here. Just a stones throw from HParfitt. I'd be up for meeting some local CTD folk. :D

I go to Bloomsburg every year as well as Knobels.

Cool! We have another winner. Welcome aboard Master. Kinda catchy isn't it? Yes master, yes master sensai. ok I'll stop now. (It's late and the Woodchuck cider is talking, what can I say?) :p

I've been to Macungie a few times. I know a couple of people there.

The more the better. I'm glad to see that there's a lot of interest. The longer our member list gets, the better.

For a family oriented get-together we can get a pavilion at Francis Slocum or Knoebel's.

The Jamboree is a good way to spend a weekend. And Knoebel's is my favorite amusement park. Old school and cheap. They have camping too.

If it's just the guys/gals we can have dinner/coffee/TGIF/house party/ ??

I'm also thinking of creating a web page. Maybe a picture of each member's truck and their name or nickname.

Yes, I was joking about not knowing how to change the spark plugs in my Cummins.

(I've changed them lots of times. )

TORQUE THIS,

I was lurking in the CT threads...

I think I found some of your guys' marbles. :D

Marbles??? Running marble-less is the only way to go...

Maybe our first meet should be to get everyone from the Northeast to hit the go pedal at the same time and see if we can get a solar eclipse... :-laf

V-man I think that we could round up enough people to make a smoke cloud that would definitely earn us some kind of ticket or citation!

I'm a member of "Smokers Not So Anonymous".

Maybe you're not a TDR member yet but you're curious. Or you're still driving a gasser. Whatever the story is.

I know of a few local guys that are interested but aren't members yet. I think they would definitely be interested in an event.
