(Unofficial) N.E.P.A. Chapter of the TDR Springtime Meet n’ Greet.

It looks like i'll be there going to work and play with some big HP diesels (3000- 4400hp) tonight. I'll go home get a quick power nap and if the roads are dry dig the F-350 out of the back of the garage. For those that don't know i'm a Locomotive Engineer for CP Rail and have to work the Binghamton Yard switcher at midnight. See all of you tomorrow.

I will definitely see all of you there at the Meet.

I pulled a marathon the past few days trying to get the truck ready. I just finished about ten minutes ago. Lying on the ground, some snowflakes, temps in the 20's..... rocks in my head I tell ya.

But... my truck can finally make it to the Meet. It's not 100% yet, but it'll be good enough for Saturday.

I'll have some broken transmission parts for you guys to check out. I also have a new

"hair dryer" that hasn't been installed yet that you can take a gander at.

The truck still has a slight miss at part throttle but at full throttle... . the thing will get sideways in fourth gear. Brings a smile to my face. :D

Wantacummins, you're working the nightshift and still making the meet!?

That's dedication!

Wow, I didn't know you were that close. I'm in Harding. I thought I was the odd man out until Mike checked in

Well actually you would be suprised at how many from this site are from your neck of the woods and/or still have ties there. I have 4 rentals which are all family homes that have been in my family for years up there and make monthly trips to ensure that problems are handled and my tenants are happy. 2 are down in Ashley(One back behind the old Blue Coal plant and the other close to old Hanover High School),1 is between Kingston and Forty-Fort(out towards Victory Pig) and the other on Harveys Lake. When my Dad was stationed in the Dunmore PSP house we lived out off 502 past the where Ghost Town used to be and the later up on the hill behind Lispi's garage. I know my way around there very well,LOL.

One thing I thought I should chime in on though is your comment of "No Rules" before Robin does for you. When you start a chapter and align with the TDR you need to contact Robin Patton for a set of chapter guidelines to go by. Yes,rules for you to start your chapter by so your no rules deal is out the window already,LOL. At any rate, they are very easy to follow and basically outline what the TDR expects of your group. If there are any questions I can assist you with drop me a note. Scott Wexlin I see is coming and he is from the Mason-Dixon Chapter and can help you some.

At any rate,I was considering showing as its my weekend to check on my interests up there, but will now do it next weekend instead. I have some work on one to do and the weather will not be conducive tomorrow to me being very motivated to work outside. Next weekend is going to be warmer,if you can believe the weather guessers, and I will be up in the area then,LOL. I am a road driver for Overnite Transport out of Harrisburg and my nightly run takes me thru the Valley each nite while on my way to Danbury,CT. So if you see a new Volvo with a TDR sticker on the truck thats me,LOL. I'll try and make your next gathering and hope this one goes well for you all. I am not interested in being a member as club affiliations and I are not a good mix. Take good care of Scott :-laf :-laf :D :D   ... Andy

PS. . I have heard from some of the Mason-Dixon Chapter members close by and you may have a few others sneak in also.

Thanks for the heads up Andy. I don't want Robin to bounce me on my head. ;)

The places you mentioned are all familiar to me. Victory Pig pizza is great, but they aren't open for business enough.

If you can't make the Meet, then maybe we can catch you next weekend for a coffee. ATVX4 would probably be up for that. Maybe Mike too.

If anyone breaks down today or gets lost or anything else, you can call 570-954-0279. I don't have a cell phone so that number is my father's cell. If he can't help you I can.

Just got back home from the first meeting of the N. E. PA TDR Chapter.

This was a great idea, to meet fellow diesel junkies and the Machines ran from

the Impressive to the Unusual.

Beautiful day and the senic view from the parking lot was superb.

Dtroy... everything was great, start planning the next one but make the weather just a little warmer.

and I want you to start practicing saying Foxy... ... Foxy..... Foxy..... Foxy... Foxy

start out slow and I'm sure you can get it down ! ;) ;) :-laf

I have to agree it was a great time. Everyone I talked to was cool. Some real nice trucks there, from Mild to wild! Nice job getting this together DTroy. We have to do this again. :D

Thanks DTroy for setting this up. :D It was nice to meet some new people. It didn't really seem like 30 degrees... .. We had everything from train horns to a Detroit conversion.... Looking forward to the next one.

I have a few pics up:Meet-N-Greet

I also had a good time it was nice to get out and meet up with Diesel heads during the winter when basically nothing else is going on. D Troy good job putting this together and hopefully the next one will be a little warmer out   At least there was no snow !! I hope everyone had a safe fun ride back home and hopefully will see all of you at the next meet...

I've been MIA again. Lots more work done on the truck.

You're welcome gentlemen. And a thank you to all of you for taking an interest and for attending. It would have been pretty lame if I were standing in the parking lot all by myself with my hood up mumbling to myself ! :-laf

Foxy, when I read your last post I was rolling. :D ( I told him at the Meet that I couldn't call him Foxy in front of strangers - that's how rumors get started )

Vssman, thanks for bringing your Uncle in-law. That blown two-stroke Detroit was just plain neat !

Master, thanks for taking pics and posting them. I don't have a good digital cam.

I'll see if my father took some good pics. If so, I'll post them.

I think it was a great event considering the fact that it was simple and we just kind of winged it. I think we have a great bunch of guys in the group.

I didn't get to talk to each and every one of you for as long as I would have liked... but I was like a kid in a candy store. Too many goodies to look at, too many stories to hear.

Next time I'll be sure to order warmer weather.

BTW, I plan on attending IRP this year. If anyone wants to go ... ... ... ... ... ... .

Glad to hear it guys.

After I made the very first post about the Meet I was surprised at the reaction.

And after having so many people show up, AND having such a good get-together , AND everyone wanting to do something again..... I'm really happy how things turned out! And I'm excited about the next event. Oo.

For those of you that may not have heard the description of the parts on my tailgate, the separated compressor and turbine housings were from an HT3B. Which will serve as my mock-up one day.

The transmission parts were from my NV4500. The complete turbo was a Phat Shaft 64 and the downpipe was for it.

-------------------------------

I had intended to post pics of directions to the Meet, but they didn't come out well. So I scratched that.

I didn't post a cell phone number until the morning of the Meet. I'll leave it posted for the next event. ;)

-------------------------------

I pulled another marathon yesterday and installed that 64 (among other things). It comes on like a freight train. The jump from 30 to 50 lbs is instantaneous. I know it's working well because I blew the SBC Con-FE right out of the water !

ATVX4, I know you like the sound of that. I can see you smiling from here. :-laf

----------------------------

And of course free rides are available to anyone in the "club". :p
