Looking forward to this Phil.

The standard hot sauce you find in the super markets are pretty mild. Find a Chinese market and look for red chili paste (Son Bol). I little goes a LONG way.

For the gig itself, I'll bring some of my evil hot stuff. I grind all kinds of dried chilis and add a few habenaro chilis to it. Hurts on the way in and the way out.

sounds like another great time. Maybe us Marylanders can hook up and convoy on down. I hooked up with a couple going to the Glen Burnie meet looked kinda neet. The wife makes awesome potatoe salad if somebody hasn't already claimed it. If you need anything email or write. Hey Switca I heard about your jumbalya. Its going to be worth the trip just for that. Hey CAM are you ready to send me some pyro parts????

If this thing is still on for Saturday March 24th, Sue and I will clear a hole in our schedules. We don't get up in that end of the state very often, so we will need some directions to be able to find you. If you need help filling your street, we can bring both trucks. #ad

Will there be a list of what edibles people are bringing, or will it be a "pot luck"?

I may be the closest guy in MD to Phils' house. Maybe we can set up a meeting place on the way and convoy from there. How about the Park&Ride/Truck Inspection Station at the intersection of I-95 and I-495 (College Park, MD). This should help out all of trucks that are not local to the DC area. Let me know what you guys want to do. That spot is around 30 minutes from Phils' place.

Phil,
Are you sure your neighborhood is ready for all these trucks? Sounds like it's going to be a killer gathering.

DUBSTER, Vienna is about 20 min. from I-95 and I-495 (Springfield) inter-change. Depending on the infamous DC traffic we have around here.

Folks,
The plan is me and my wife will make some kind of list as to who is coming and bringing what. I am compiling a list of all your e-mail addresses so when I get real good directions made up, I will e-mail all. So far If hamburgers and hot dogs are O. K. then I'll take care of that and all the eating essentials (plates, silverware, cups,napkins,etc... A few are bringing food already, this is good too. More food is good!I will also think about getting some tables and chairs I can set up in the yard so we'll have sitting room to eat. My barbeque is ready to go.
Now about parking. I will get a permission form filled out and give it to the elem. school that is directly behind my house just in case there is an overwhelming amount of Diesel power present. This will give me/us the option of parking on the street at my house or at the elementary school parking lot. This is just an insurance measure. My house is only about 50 yards from the school, and they shouldn't have any problems with this. Switca had a good idea about name tags and I'll go with it. I was thinking of getting them printed up with the TDR logo in color and you just fill in your names on them. Hows that sound?I will be working on this as well. Anyone want to bring a video recorder,or even better yet,a digital camera?I just have a cheap camera!I'll be taking pictures though.
Me and the wife will work on all the specific stuff and keep all informed.

Phil

CAM,
that sounds good If you don't mind bringing it. I have access to some tables and chairs at the church that my wife has been a long time member of and I'll pick those up the Friday before and have them ready to go. #ad

I really like this convoy idea. We can set up acouple of places down I95 to meet, from North to South anyway. And I want to be first so all you guys behind me can smell those steamed crabs all the way there!https://www.turbodieselregister.com/ubb//icons/icon6.gif

The BBQ sounds great. Too bad I won't be able to make it.

Good meeting everyone last month, hopefully I can make the next one...

Dave

Put me down for a mess of devilled eggs to complement all the other goodies.
Tell me how many dozen you want later on.

If this thing gets big enough that you think there will be an "overflow" area in the schoolyard, I *could* bring the 28-foot porta-potty.

Phils BBQ sounds like it is going to be great time; however, March 24th seems like a long time to wait. Any interest in doing something like the Glen Burnie gathering sometime around the middle of Febuary? Maybe we can get lucky and miss the snow storm.

Dave,

Sounds good!See if we can do something up there between now and then. I am interested.

Sorry if I haven't been on time with my replies lately folks. My mother-in-law passed away on Friday the 26th and It's been kind of hard on my wife and her family. I have a lot going on this week so you will have to bear with me here. Maybe things will be better next week.

Thank you for your support in this time of sorrow.

Phil Stuart
