I second that! Very good indeed. About time that these old trucks begin to make folks set up and take notice. Congrats.

I have a feeling that 300/350 hp will become the "norm" 'for too long. That's bout where these things should anyhow :)

"not quite tuned" :-laf :-laf

why? cuz of those little bumps in the line? jk. very good work. glad we've got guys like you to push the envelope.

Wow-my dyno graph the hp is falling off at 2600 rpms. What does the torque look like? Your making almost as much horse as I make with torque. That truck must be quite a ride.

Thanks for pushing the envelope.

Oooooo... ... ... I think I see miracles in the church ... :D:D:D..... outstanding Mike... in the top 3 aint half bad buddy... .

10 RWHP bonus for the house on me... . errrrr..... on Mike. . :D

:D :D  Nice graph Mike. Are you still using the same turbo configuration that you were? What are your egt's like? Keep up the good work!!!!!!!!! I need to go back through my pump to fix my governor issue, but after that I will need to rent some time on a dyno and do a little tuning my self. :D These new pump parts sure do make a big difference don't they? :-laf

Did you get any flow numbers?

Stomp

Thanks guys. Still have some tuning to improve driveability, and make more power. I guess it's finally time to install the dual disk that has been collecting dust on the shop floor. There seems to be some engine to trans rpm issues in 3rd, 4th, and 5th. May try some different big turbo parts as well. EGT's are up to about 1300* now. After the pump was turned down, it flowed 300cc with a 5 plate on the test stand. There is quite a bit of fuel left, but being able to effectively use it will take some work.

Mike

thanks for the report, os. what do you mean by a "5 plate"? is that just a test stand thing? i've never seen one, so i'm just kinda curious.

The different size plates act like different injectors. For instance an 8 plate would allow the pump to flow more fuel than the 5. So, if the 300cc pump was run with a less restrictive plate, like larger injectors, it would show that it flowed 380cc (not actual numbers - just an example).

i see says the blind man. thank you. so what kind of injectors does a 5 plate represent? i've got one of those "mo power" do-hickeys on the way, you think pod's will be able to handle it? thanks.

Well I guess I had better get back to working on mine. I don't want to get left in the dust. :{ Well get that clutch in there already we want results!!!!!!!

POLL: How to use my savings??????

A= Use extra money for paint job? (I did get the PB's Junkyard Dog award)

B= Use extra money to find more power?

Nice/shiny pickups are overrated anyways right? :-laf

My thoughts have always leaned toward a strong mechanism, not paint, will get you out of the woods. Now if your intentions lay more toward winning the Mother's polish-"Best paint" award then by all means choose A. But for the sake of most of us bench racers- I mean hydrocarbon intoxicated, rough riding, first gen lovin', diesel is not a fragrance bought at the store, nor is it the brand of jeans we wear- kind of guys who are behind your endeavor, your quest, I say spend the money on HP and a dozen roses for your understanding girlfriend. :D

Dave

i agree. nix the paint. that way, not only will you make the 6. 0's wonder what happened, you'll make em cry. besides, i'm gonna need some competition for the junkyard dog award. :D
