NOx and general emissions levels pre vs post delete

Several articles today about the EPA going after deleters. They stated that 15% of the diesels have been deleted. Emphasized that the feds make deleting illegal but the states are not enforcing. They state that Texas is the worse. IMHO the new administration will come after the states to enforce environmental regs concerning deleted diesel trucks.

Increased EPA attention/enforcement is why I reinstalled EGR/DPF back in my 09 Ram 4500. To be honest, it didn't make a noticeable difference in the performance and fuel mileage. Had very few regens as the design and programming pretty much had the DPF pretty much staying clean running pretty much high towing and running at speed (70 MPH) a lot. Even though I spotted complete delete kit including tuner for my 2017 Ram 5500 on Ebay for $2200, I decided to stay fully emission legal, since we travel all over the country and didn't want to deal with potential legal issues or warranty issues. A lot of dealers won't work on the engines of deleted trucks.

Anyhoo, I believe we'll see post about enforcement of emissions, big heavy fines, and a lot of waaaahing about it.

I had given some serious thought to deleting but have made up my mind to stay emission compliant. I'll keep building my maintenance / repair fund as I am my own warranty and repair station. So far the truck has been solid with no issues.

Sno- if you get your wish as it stands in another section of this forum, the entire RV industry will be a thing of the past. You’ll be lucky to pack a tent in the back of your EV.

I will get one of the Tesla semi Class 7-8 tractors. You guys are pretty crazy at times. Nothing is going to go away until there is a satisfactory replacement. That is how the market works.

Just like the bridge to nowhere rail project, They'll blow $50 billion past the budget they didn't have to begin with and realize it was all a pipe dream, except for the peoples pockets that got lined fat, which is what it's all about anyway.

Not getting into politics, I am Canadian anyways, but on a side note there are a lot of studies out there even the German automobile club ADAC have done, that show a electric vehicle , the batteries and the emissions with these are comparable to driving your VW diesel for 20 years.....and we all know about VW.....just do not think electric is the save all...

A few people have been given a warning for their political fights in this thread. Thousands of members who follow the rules for years without issue, and it always seems to be the same group of people get warned over and over again.

Its a shame, because some non-political posts were removed along with political posts because they were replying-to/quoting the political posts, and the topic was interesting enough without the political arguments.
