friend of mine has 2012 3500 dealer says nox sencer needs to be replaced at $1800 bucks can this be true? he is from MI thanks

Might be able to get it from Cummins, I think you can. I’ll use my son’s VIN here in a bit and look it up. Not enough coffee on board just yet..:D

Two coffees in now.....things look better..

It appears that Mopar has him hostage on that sensor. Nothing listed with the engine, looked up a couple 2011 Freightliners with "B" series power....the NOX sensor is with the aftertreatment group which is not visible when looking up the pick ups....so that's gonna' be a Mopar item.....I don't know if the aftermarket has begun to offer those yet....

Just for reference the Cummins NOX Sensors for the Freightliners cost about $300.00......

Dang! I just had the Nox sensor on my 2013 replaced under warranty. The warranty obviously paid for it so i had no idea what it cost. Not sure if they replaced it under my max care or the fed emissions warranty. But sure glad it was covered under warranty!

$1800 was what i paid for 7/70 max care

I replaced mine a few weeks ago. Bought Dorman from Rock Auto, about $350. Wasn't about to pay the almost $1000 for a Mopar part, let alone the cost of labor and other charges had the Dealer done it.
