Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) NV4500 oil quantity?

Tried the search, tried the owners manual, no luck. How much oil for the NV4500? for a 2000 model year.

If time permits.....

Get a PTO filter (Eaton-Fuller) from Geno's. Don't use the cork gasket. Add 2 neodymium 1"X1"X½" magnets (104 lbs of pull) on the outside, and you have one heck of a manual trans filter.

The NV4500 only holds 4 quarts. So you must be telling him to over fill it. ( which a lot of people do) But you didn't tell him why or how. He's going to be wondering what's going on when he can only get 4 quarts in the fill hole. Buy your oil from a Chev or GMC dealer it's $5 a quart cheeper.

I suppose you have a point ata. I always pull the stick and pour it in from the top so it's a non issue.

I would fill it 'till it starts to come out of the fill hole.

I agree, There was a reason the fill plug was put at that level. But I can't tell you why.

No there is not an oil filter in the NV4500. You can buy one that replaces the PTO cover.

There should be a square magnet on the inside of one of the PTO covers. Usually on the driver side.
