I have about 132,000 miles on my truck and I have owned it since June. When I got the truck, it would shift roughly when cold and improved a little when at full running temp. I switched over to Amsoil Syncromesh fluid fearing maybe the previous owner put the wrong fluid in there and the syncros where starting to wear. Anyways, swapping the fluid made the truck shift better all around. Last weekend I was driving through the mountains when we came to a small town and pulled off to stop. I pushed in the clutch and noticed it felt harder to push in. Also seemed to go in and out of gear harder too. This week I am experiencing the same sort of issue. Could this be my hydros going out? I have searched on here and it seems some people have had similar problems when the master or slave cylinders start to go. Is upgrading to the south bend kit worth the extra money? Thanks for the help TDR members.

Mine just did that and then went to the floor:eek: pulled it back up with my foot. but i am getting the southbend hd hydrosand clutch put in now. 120,000 miles on mine

The South Bend hydros I put on mine I am happy with. Mine when pushing clutch pedal sometimes go to floor and when released and pressed again it worked. Did this for awhile until finally did not work at all or barely.

trouble free with my SB now for over a year. I had the same symptoms real spongy and not very responsive before I replaced it.

Thanks for the responses guys. I'm gonna drive it a while longer before I purchase the SB hydros. Today it seems to be shifting ok. Not nearly as notchy as last weekend.

Good deal, mine was having problems for almost a year until it went completely. I was always worried it would leave m stranded though and glad it did not happen. I feel lots better now I don't like the unknowing when it was going to give up the ghost and not sure I would wait so long again. Much better not to be worrying about in the middle of the desert with my 5er attached and bang it is down.
