NV5600 in a Gen I 4X4?

I sure would like to have a six speed in my W250. Has anyone successfully installed a NV5600 in a Gen I 4X4?

I have been looking at the threads on the conversion and I have not decided if it is worth the effort. I like the G360, but I wish the gears were spaced a little closer from a ratio perspective.

Before you make the switch, verify parts availability, etc. If my foggy memory serves me correct, the NV 5600 is no longer being manufactured, the plant has been closed down and the tooling was to be destroyed unless an after-market-er bought it.
