The 2005 DR Dodge service manual shows for schedule "B" 60,000 mile change intervals. They are not specifying G56 or NV5600 on the "B" schedule.

It's so easy to drain & fill the transmission that I'll probably do it every 30k miles or so... . the Pennzoil Synchromesh is readily available, and at $4. 59 per quart, it's cheap insurance.

The owner's manual for my 04. 5 truck does not indicate any fluid change interval for the NV5600, regardless of the type of use. Duh? I did mine at 15K and will probably do it every 30K from now on.

Did mine at 15k and again at 45k. My next one will be at 60k, because I have a very slight leak at the bottom PTO bolt on the drivers side that's bothering me.

I think 30k is a reasonable interval.

At 30K I opened the fill plug and dipped a Q-tip and dripped a good size drop on a paper towel, then dripped new oil next to it. Same exact color, so I decided to leave it in for another year. No heavy towing, and very mild weather here. Ended up just adding a few ounces until it dripped out.

The factory oil, assuming it's the same as synchromesh, has very good specs, just a little heavier than AT fluid, and excellent viscosity grade, equal to the best synthetic. So even if it's a petroleum based "synthtetic" like rotella, it's a good one, and they don't even lie about it being synthetic.

Just changed mine(15k)to the new Amsoil fliud. Differance in night and day in shift quality! Won't change or worry about for a long time now.

Oh heck. I think 4. something. I think I ordered 5 and have some left over. The AMSOIL web site has a capacity chart. Differance in NIGHT and DAY in shift quality. Its STILL a big lunky shifting trans but notice a huge differance in half a block.
