My break light stay on sometimes???

My CEL came on, with the TPS fault light as well. I believe the clutch/ignition safety switch caused the codes. I had the clutch pedal engaged at the exact position where it proves the clutch, and when I turned over the starter, it stumbled for a split second. The light cleared itself and the CEL just cleared itself. So I started researching for a good OBDII reader, but didn't want to spend lots of dollars. What I decided on I think is a very good choice as well as affordable, and I can even add devices like an EGT gauge, and up to 16 modules. And what is cool about it is that I use my iPhone for the display. My initial cost is only $200. 00 to start using it, that will allow the standard OBDII parameters, read and clear CEL's as well as many other features. I plan to add a trany temp module, rear end temp module, EGT module and boost pressure module if the reader can not see that. I'm hoping that it will tell me when its in regen as well. Here is the link www.plxdevices.com then you load an app that suites your fancy. I'll load the Dashcommand app when I get it. Click on the "OBDII to smartphone" link in the lower left of the page and then explore all of the modules.

All opinions welcomed!

Well, after using the PLX, it did perform as advertised. I wish I could see more parameters but that is the ECM is not sending the info. I have not had a chance to really use it as intended, but I needed to read the trouble code. The code that showed up seems to be a bit scary. I posted a pic of the code reading screen. I discovered that my iPhone, when I plug the component video cable into the lockpick, that the screen will display on my Nav screen and give a much bigger screen.

Nice set up but for those of who don't have a fancy phone I use my Smarty, but I also have a Mac code reader that wasn't expensive. Shad

The 2509 is usually caused by a failing Battery, more often than not the right side battery

It can display a lot of info when in dashboards, but I haven't played with it yet. Just the codes and the basic dashboard as the pic shows.

Before you buy new batteries, make sure your connections are clean, and tight. I bought 2 batteries, then discovered a terminal on the right side battery was loose. Oh well, over 6 years old and probably wouldn't last too much longer anyway. I did keep the old ones to use on my "RV sideways mover".

I was quoted $300. 00 for middle of the line reader, so the $175. 00 which included the App was a good price but also doubles as a monitor. You can also add modules for reading just about what any anolog gauge would read.

I had a chance to finally play around with the "PLX Kiwi 2+" and the "Dashboard" App. Although I haven't customized my own skin or added any modules, I am amazed of how well it works and then had a pleasant surprise, when connected with the "Lockpick" to my iPhone, it showed up on my Nav screen. So I have included some pics of what my Dash looks like with all of my goodies connected. The only negative that I can say that the Kiwi system has is that its delayed in response by a half second, probably due to the Wifi.

The 1st pic has the Kiwi on screen, and the second (a little dark) is the entire dash with the iPhone connected, you can see the white plug under the iPhone to help in locating the iPhone. The third pic is playing a Robert Palmer music video.

Hey Bob, you were correct with your analysis. It was confirmed with my Dodge tech and with the computer connected. He saw the code and explained the reason for it, I never mentioned I knew about it. I had him connect it to Dodges system, to see if there was a flash for my C&C. There was a flash available and I had the ECM reflashed hoping it gets rid of the surging during Regens.

He explained that the most common reason for the right side battery failure, is that the ECM see's the left side battery and due to corrosion from the right side battery cable connected to the left side, it shows the batteries need charging and therefor charges them which then over charges the right side. (or something like that ) Everybody should clean the cables and apply grease or another substance to the left side connection, mine looked normal but when the cable was removed we saw a mild formation of corrosion.

Haha! Talk about a safety issue. When that video first came out, I was glued to the screen every time MTV played it, trying to decide whether those dresses were partly see-through, or just shiny! My then and present wife would just shake her head ...

I'm not sure I ever did make up my mind, so I sure as bikkies wouldn't want to have it screening while I was driving! :)

:-laf:-laf:-laf:-laf:-laf, you mean MTV has music videos? Careful, your showing your age with that last statement, ABTW they are see-through. :) I know I watched it more times than you, but that video on my NAV system is not HD.

Now that I have used the Palmer product (Dashcommand) for sometime now, since the last post in 2012, I really have had positive response from tech support, to development of the skins I use, and like it a lot. BTW the skins are free, to whomever wants to download them, check the link. The Skin set was developed for me.
