most likely only the scan will pick it up. but I do have a question do you have a lever arm or rotary dial to change gears? could be its not going to park in the rotary type.

If Brockman is correct and just from going back over the comments and comparing to my experience with this problem, I think he probably is, does anyone know what it might cost for a dealer to correct this "Park Sensor" thing at the dealership. Unfortunately, the truck is no longer in warranty! By the way, thank you all very much for all the comments! I think I'll have the batteries checked also.

After re-reading the comments and comparing them to my experiences with this problem, I'm inclined to agree that Brockman is probably right about this. Does anyone know what it would cost to have the "PARK sensor" problem corrected or replaced. Unfortunately, the truck is out of warranty! I think I'll have them check the batteries also, just in case! Thanks for all the comments!
