In looking at these picture I think the fuel door is more what drove the design than the retro idea.

Chrome Wheel is coming out with a dually fender for the short bed. From what they told me it looks similar to the current dually. (expecting pictures anyday now)

Took the words right out of my mouth...

It's funny how much opinions can vary. My guess is if the long bed drw's ever look like that there are going to be a lot of p. o. 'ed poeple!

I for one don't like the "flares on steriods" look either. Looks like it was just slapped together.

Well I didn't have a clue THEY had left over 1st Generation fenders still laying around ! Then it needs to be STRECHED some and a REAL bed put on it. had a friend with a 72 CHEVY DUALLY. Looked just like the Mega Cab dually from the back window back.

I agree with the earlier comment that this looks like the D/W-series dually fender. It looks strange only because Dodge used the large fender in 94 and the 03's fender was even bigger. Had the current design used this new smaller fender all along, this wouldn't look strange at all, and would not have deterred me from getting my 05.

This is simply called working on the cheap. Instead of adding another chassis, they ended up with a huge cab and the existing short box on the Quad/long-box frame. And realizing they needed a dually, they chose a quick cheap solution instead of designing a shorter-length version of the current fenders.

No matter what, people are going to buy this thing once they sit in the back seat. Dodge will tell you that the Quad LB DRW is for those who want a hauler and some extra cab space, the MC DRW is for families pulling the camper.

i will be keeping my current truck for awhile... . I thought the 3rd gens were the best looking dually of all brands and now it looks like the designers went "ooops... forgot about the bed ... . oh and i guess it needs fenders"... no thanks

my two cents

Worst of all you will need a slider for the 5er hitch and it will probably be around say 50k for the truck. No thanks, I'll keep my 2nd gen

Major cost cutting, they should have gone with an 8 ft bed and make a longer frame(180 in wb), they definitely took the cheap way out. The 06s are a bit on the ugly side, but hey maybe they'll grow on us. The 05s are IMHO the best looking so far.

The 3rd picture that Gann posted doesn't look to be the same truck as the first two. The 3rd picture definitely shows that there are no crease lines in the rear fenders but it looks like there are on the first two pictures.

Fender creases will probably be a $400 option.

I think the reason that some pictures show the crease in the fender flares and some don't is due to the camera angle. The pictures that show the crease is actually a reflection of the crease from the side of the box.

Personally I will be buying a Quad Cab dually or wait and hope for a Mega Cab long box dually.

Did you Guys notice the weight ratings? Now Dodge is in the game for haulers.

"Building on Dodge Ram Mega Cab’s prodigious towing and hauling capability, the new dual-rear-wheel model boosts the Dodge Ram Mega Cab Dually’s Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) to 10,500 lbs. , payload capacity to 3,240 lbs. , and rear Gross Axle Weight Rating (GAWR) to 9,350 lbs. An impressive Gross Combined Vehicle Weight Rating (GCWR) of 23,000 lbs. and maximum trailer weight of 15,600 lbs. place the Dodge Ram Mega Cab Dually at the top of its class. "

The picture of the 2 guys standing in front of the truck with the big cowboy hat on top is about the gayest thing I've seen in at least a year.
