Here's One For Mwilson...

I don't know if these pictures will show how much snow is moving around out there or not. Taken from our family room in the daylight basement facing NW across the lake..

I remember Nolanville had a flashing red light for a 4way stoplight, and don't go over the speed limit. Also my mothers maiden name was Gates and her family came from Gatesville.

I was here in '77-78 too. A troop, 7-17th Cav, 6th Cav Bde, flying AH1-S Cobras. I bought my '97 Dodge in Gatesville. Nolanville hasn't grown much, but the rest of the area towns have. A freeway goes through it, so it isn't the speed trap it used to be.

Well,Ac worked as designed all afternoon, went red second round though. Still felt good to get back out there after our LONG 2.5 month winter break !

190th maintenance co. rebuilding the real Alison CD850 automatic transmissions for the M60 tanks and I can't remember what the Co. was, but I was loaned out to a motor pool for about 6months fixing Dragon wagons (trailers used to haul M60 tanks) and the 10ton tractors that pulled them.

Snowing here again, I can't wait for spring.

Anyhow, found this video of snow removal in Portland, Maine in the early '40s. It was OK to dump the snow in the bay back then...

The EPA tried like hell to keep the residents of Cordova, Ak from dumping the snow in the bay during the huge dump they had a couple years ago.....the national guard showed up and just kept shoving snow until the EPA went home.
