Bill,

DOes this mean you arent going to run the twins? let us know how it all turns out. Lookslike the cast DP has some restiriction potential, though I could be mistaken. Can I pick up your PDR HX35 on my next trip that way, to say, buy a 93 W350 ;) ;) in a few weeks? I will return your loaner parts then, though the radiator will need some attention.

GL- Has anyone run a VT50 (or whatever that big 855 turbo is) as a bottom for a set of twins? I'd think that would make for some wicked airflow. Havent ever measured the impellars on the farm trucks, but I got a good look at one with a 27cm exh housing while taking out the air compressor on a snub nose Int'l.

MMiller- If he gave it full throttle, the driveline would fall apart. I dont think the 5" pipe rattling on the frame or t-case would be noticed at all inside the cab.

Question, would it be a problem if the flex rested on or touched either the frame, t-case, or bottom of cab? Rattle real bad? Would it even be heard over the rest of the loud truck LOL?

answer, yes, yes, and yes.

BUT, i found that napa big truck mud flaps do a great job of insulating sound. and you will be amazed at how much quieter your truck will be with 5" out back than with the 4" stack(s). you'll start to think you have a knock or something because you will actually hear the ENGINE, instead of just the exhaust. anyway, i can't wait to hear how it runs bill. get ta work.

A man can't rest at all, you guys are always pushing!! And yes, Stomp, sorry, you've read through the lines, I'm always silently taking a poke at you west coast guys LOL, all in fun! More pics in my RR's album on DTR.

Daniel, I'm sure someday I'll step up to Stomp's level, twins. The 35 is not for sale or loan, I would use it as a top turbo in twins or on the donor engine or on a detuned for the winter 89 :-laf, yeah right :p . You've come across those parts already? They were loaners, but obviously I don't need them at this second. I figured I'd let the radiator slide for all the help you've given me, but the fan/hub etc I would like replaced or back.

Swank, ahh come on, I don't wanna hear about CAN'T. I wanna !! It'd be nice to hear turbo spool and the purr of the engine instead of the loud 5" stacks!

Sorry slow internet connection users, all these pics are probly killing ya's...

No more stacks. . for now ;) .

you come on, bill. i didn't say ANYTHING about can't! those mud flaps i was talking about are for the pipe. pig in a blanket style. here's where the can't comes in. it'll make it so you CAN'T even hear the rattle.

Bill,

For what it's worth..... I told you that the school has a new Cat C7 with a particular turbo that I'd like to try out on my truck. I posted the make and model and you had interest in it. Your new turbo looks exactly like our turbo on the Cat. You have come full circle now :)

It looks real good!

But it sure don't have a 66mm compressor wheel  ;) . More than likely a 58mm in stock Cat form. Either way, try it out!

Bill, I don't plan on going with an hx35 I'm thinking about the H1E 60mm kit for now because it is fairly cheap and it would be a good top turbo for a twin set. Hurry up and run that thing so we can hear how it runs. Could you get your boost up on the dynojet like you can on the street? Mine only hit about 27lbs were it is somewere ;) over thirty on the street. It hit 301 HP though thanks to 68 degree air with no humidety :-laf . Good luck with the test runs.

Cade

Bill nice charger... that should work out pretty good for you.

ALSO TINT THOSE WINDOW'S YOU CAN BARELY SEE THE STICKER lol

Cade

I would have killed to been on a dyno in 68 degree air! alot better than 90 + in indy. My truck didnt make the same boost on the dyno that it dose on the street,Heck it didnt even sound right. I cant remember how much it made on the dyno but it wasnt 42# I hope to get on a large loading dyno sometime and see what the truck can make on a good load and work it!

and btw twins are in the plan,,, big,,, and bigger!!
