Oil analysis trends making me jumpy. There are six years of data graphed below, the tabular data is just the last 5 years. Copper spiked in the 3rd year and was attributed to the EGR, Apparently amsoil dissolves some of the copper and has since stabilized. Two years ago high potassium levels were linked to a possible coolant leak and its still rising which has me concerned (baseline when the oil was one year old, 17 for Potassium), Iron and aluminum has also increased more rapidly in the last year. I should note I only change enough oil every year to change the oil filter and every other year the 2 micron bypass filter. So I replace 1.5-3 quarts of oil per year. this year only 1.5 qts. Oil is tested after the filter changes. Running amsoil HDD 5w-30 3000 series. 2011 2500 - DPF fell off. Going to talk to myshop and see what they can do to test for coolant leaks in the EGR and headgasket. Will also be calling Oil analyzers to see what they recommend.

Any other suggestions.

Change the oil.... time for a new baseline and a new oil.

HDD barely meets the requirements for a 30wt in a ISB. I had horrible UOA’s with it when I ran it on my 5.9. Switched to AME and all was well.

Flat tappet motors need thicker oil. If you do any towing the oil is getting too hot and too thin. So unless that stuff in your sig goes unused you’ve been using the wrong oil.

So AME is the diesel Marine oil, looks like it only comes in 15w40, since it is synthetic it should function fine in the winter too although it's not a 5w.
Called oil analyzers today they said it was normal accumulation of break-in wear, said if sodium was high along with higher potassium it would indicate a coolant leak.
Will look into switching, thanks

Unless you see a lot of -20°F and colder weather the AME is great for year round use.

If you see colder then consider the DZF or DEO oils from Amsoil.

Yes it could be break in wear, but it’s been in the oil for 60K miles. Time for new, clean oil.

Yeah, It's deleted. I'm in Idaho falls so I don't see it below -20 too much, nor do I drive it as much in the winter.
