I have a question, why is there not a Fleetguard Venturi™ Combo - lube filter for the 6. 7 which by its specifications of a combined Full Flow and By-Pass configuration would remove most of the soot contamination generated by the anti-pollution equipment and provide a longer oil drain interval. Currently the EVIC will show oil change required after a nominal 3000 miles (and this is without any idiling time, and all hwy driving at a nominal 60 MPH (1600 RPM) the current reflash is running the Active Regeneration to the point the oil is being super contaminated and needs a different approach than the standard Mopar 5083285AA or Fleetguard LF16035. The CJ-4 oil is a very high grade diesel oil designed to accomodate the new EPA requirements as well as provide backwards compatibility however even it has limits of how much soot it can hold in suspension. The people at Fleetguard tell me that the engine will not support an external By-Pass filter as it will drop the oil pressure, then if this is true I suggest they send some of their high priced engineers back to the design board and come up with suitable filters which will keep this engine clean and even allow the engine to idle longer than 5 minutes without contaminating the oil and clogging up the Exhaust Aftertreatment equipment.
