Dang, I went to Walmart to restock some gasser oil and no more conventional, just 20w-50. Not even a shelf spot for it. It is all blend, full synthetic or advanced synthetic, in Super Tech.

That's not current oil, and CJ specs were not great. That was a good oil to supersede.

True. That made me wonder why it took so long for Lucas oil to come out with a CK4 oil. They were still formulating their CJ4 for several years after the CK4 spec was released. New for 2021, they now I believe have a CK4.

I think that specific Chevron was the one that people who added an oil pressure sensor were noticing and complaining that when temps got below 20 F, that CJ 4 Chevron oil took longer than they were comfortable with building pressure.

40°C is 104°F. Doesn’t have to get that cold to have “cold” oil pressure issues.

20w-50 is still the wrong oil.

Thanks for your advice. Still using it. Will let you know if I have an oil failure. Will let you know If it starts making the kind of noise upon start up that all cummins do in zero degree weather.

0° weather noise is not often oil related, but based on your apparent exceptional knowledge of oils and these motors I shouldn’t have to explain that

Yeah, I know. I made some real bone head moves in my day. Like switching out the ATF 4+ recommended in the owners manual in my g56 for synthetic MTF. And forgetting once to see if the oil filter gasket had come off with the oil filter when changing the oil and removing the old filter.
